Trans rights are human rights. I believe that is true just as I insist that gay rights are human rights. In the US, that should mean equal rights and equal protections under our laws. rights under our Constitution and all other laws. It means that people should be able to cohabitate, partner, marry, be taxed, visit relatives in hospitals, inherit, and enjoy so many more benefits and protections of government that are enjoyed by heterosexuals. It does not mean that a person born in a physically male body and developing as such should be allowed to compete in sports against girls or women who have been exclusively female physically since birth.

That may be a simplification of one aspect of a complex human matter. But it seems necessary to understand that trans rights activists defending any male appendages in female locker rooms are offending the sensibilities of straights and even the vast majority of gays and lesbians, not to mention parents. They also erode LGBT human rights gains when they insist that a person who begins maturing through puberty physically as a male should be allowed to compete in sports against girls or women with the female physical anatomy at birth.

So now even Grindr seems to be a battleground for either more misplaced trans activism or more likely it is now being sabotaged by anti-LGbT actors attempting to destroy the platform. Grindr is turning into a site flooded with fake female profiles that get defended by Grindr as part of some diverse “gaybourhood”. Yet Grindr seems focused on declaring its woke sensitivity to inclusion while abandoning its core business purpose - to connect people (originally and still vastly gay men) with others fitting their attractions. It’s only lip service to placate the few while failing to do actual work of putting systems in place to filter, block and/or ban these fake female accounts effectively. Any programmer for Grindr could easily make a filter to deselect or collectively block profiles that have the physical attributes for which a user is not attracted.

Grindr, we were born with these attractions. Do not try to force the loyal gay male members who made Grindr successful to wade through fake or real female profiles. And if lesbians use it, let them filter out males. If users are attracted to M2F or F2M users, allow them to filter out the ones that don’t meet their desires.

Frankly, Tindr does a much better job of matching gay men with gay male profiles than this site, which is a shame for the site that is known for its origins as a gay (male) “dating” site.

This is not hard but Grindr has not listened to any of these years of complaints. And now, a Grindr is suggesting that it can use AI to make matches better when it (as another commenter noted) made things worse by making us click on these fake female profiles to report them as fakes or to “hide” them, which machine leaning will then wrongly factor as an indication that your click means that you like them. If Grindr couldn’t make a simple programming fix to prevent, block and filter fake profiles or profiles for gender identities undesirable to user’s natural attractions, why does anyone think that Grindr can program AI to improve these things for us. This is a last gasp plea to Grindr to make immediate improvements to its filters and blocking functions so that the experience does not become totally j tolerable. As is, it is frustrating, annoying, and wastes a ton of our time unnecessarily. Please step up Grindr or a hopefully a competitor will. Frankly, this problem is so bad that it seems like Westboro Baptist or other anti-gay rights players are trying to kill the site and Grindr, by ignoring user feedback and even defending this fake proliferation of fake female profiles, is playing right into their hands.
