blocking behavior
Hello Grindr team,
I’d like to share some feedback that I believe might improve the user experience, especially for those of us genuinely looking for meaningful connections.
It seems that some users—possibly only in my local area or maybe even just in my country (I’m based in Mongolia)—start a conversation showing interest, ask for photos, and then immediately block once an album is shared. This happens far too often. It gives the impression that they’re judging purely based on appearance, which feels unfair and disheartening. Personally, I don’t consider myself unattractive—I even think I’m cute!
For users seeking stable, long-term conversations, this behavior is exhausting and discouraging. I’d like to suggest a few possible improvements:
1. Consider adding a limit to how many people a user can block in a day or week.
2. Allow the option to keep the chat history even after being blocked, so users can report inappropriate behavior (such as baiting someone into sending photos, then blocking).
3. Alternatively, review accounts that excessively block others in a short period, as this could indicate misuse of the platform.
Thank you for your attention. I hope this feedback helps in making Grindr a safer and more respectful space for everyone.
Best regards,
A concerned user from Mongolia
