I've noticed a problematic new ad format that makes skipping over the ad to continue using the app impossible. (I am running Android.)
The ad begins by showing one of several mobile games and requires you to watch for a certain amount of time. (I hate this, but whatever, I get you have to make your money). The problem is that after the time is up, the ad only shows one button, and that button takes you to the app store. Touching any part of the screen also takes you straight to the app store.
So every time an ad like this appears, I have to close the app and reopen it. Surely this is not how you want the user experience to be.

White screen after ad has no navigation buttons. Won't go away. Have to go to cusp of restarting phone three or four times before navigation button shows up

The ads are getting quite aggressive nowadays. One ad every 5 min on the app and the ad is 30 seconds long. As long as the app has such a huge premium paying customers, either reduce the price or get rid of the ads. Soon people will migrate to other apps and you'll loose the paying customers too.

Your new pop app adds, don't let you exit without exiting the app even if you wait for it to end.

We get it, this is a business that needs to make money but these new ads that totally consume your phone for a good 30 sec are a little overboard and are pissing your customers off. I get we can always pay to have no ads (if rates were realistic) There are plenty of other apps just like this one (Scruff ect) STOP THE BULLSHIT GRINDR!

The new ads are extremely annoying and I don't pay attention to them one bit. All your ads suck but I'd rather have the non-aggressive ads that don't automatically pop up the play store. If you're trying to make free Grindr unbearable so we pay it's not working. Scruff is free and sniffies is actually worth paying for. You should take some tips from them.

Im here to complain about this too. If we can't easily block all these fake profiles that are rampant on Grindr, I'm going back to scruff.
In addition, if there are this many trans profiles out there - is that not proof they should and COULD HAVE started their own app instead of hijacking the gay men's one?
Let us block people so we can use the app.

I understand the app needs funding from ads, but you took away the close button and you have to shut down the entire app and repoen to avoid that add... Less ads please

Please don't show video ads or any kind of popup ads.
I think some banner ads here and there is enough.

How about you fix the problem with it freezing up and going white blank screen when you click on the x to close it. Only app that seems to have the problem, so if you want me to pay for the premium membership then you better make the basic free membership work right like all the other apps do. This bs just started a couple days ago & a couple more I will delete this piece of shit. Thank you. Stacy

I have a small screen phone.
The advertising on the chat page, is a big problem.
After I write 3 lines, I can no longer see or touch, the send button.
And, the APP is buggy !
Please put the Ads somewhere else ?!
And, the Ads are about Christmas ... so, silly ! -

Never will I ever download one of the cheeky games from grindr. Ya boy isn't there to play games. So to have an ad totally disrupt my message, like an ad right in the middle of me typing, is by far the most infuriating experience. Like, have the ads I guess, could they be any amount less annoying?

I understand that the block feature is unlimited now, but it is very tiring to always receive a double ad after each usage it.
At times there is even that type of ad that won’t go away after 5-10 sec if you don’t interact with it.
And I understand the need to get revenue in order to support the platform and keep it free for all, but it’s becoming tiresome.
If other features would be in place to help prevent stalkers or problematic users that create fake accounts and spam you 24/7, then I wouldn’t have an issue with 1 block = 1 ad, because I won’t use it at all.
Instead why not make the first 10-15 blocks per day (or whatever number is more optimal, based on statistics and country relevance) ads free, after which you get the ads per each block you do.
At this point, grindr is more of a promotional platform for ads than an app. for socializing and meeting people. Thanks

It would be nice if free users could get access to more profiles by viewing an ad or doing a mechanical turk action etc...like view one ad and 6 profiles at the bottom are now accessible
