These so called "advanced" or "paid" features are simple and commonly available throughout applications. Placing such an unreasonably high $ price on features that are not inheritly scarce, innovative, unique nor important to all customers is a demonsration of their green driven business practices. The pricing model is absolutely bonkers and makes no sense. Despite being a well established app who should be mature enough to reap the benefits of continuous improvement & long term investment (and pass over savings to users), the pricing is exorbitant and inconsistent with other models (confusing users who compare Grindr's model to other efficient working models). Plus, user privacy/security is at high risk. So why pay them more for nothing? The platform is woefully underutilised.

Amen! It seemed to start around the holidays, and the creep has continued into the New Year! Now every feature requires an grade. And now you can be in the middle of a chat and it will cut to an advertisement before you can respond again.

The negative feature creep on Grindr the last new years has made it a joke. Charging just to see who viewed you last, or unfair boosting above already paying people creates a crappy community experience. I don't need to see those who paid extra to display that they're more desperate than others. It is already expensive and if a user let's on they're paying a premium for Grindr Ridiculous or whatever you call the product, I am less likely to want to get to know them.

So I was paying £100 for unlimited for a year. I had to contact their technical support who suggested I deactivated my account in an attempt to resolve the issue. Of course when I trued to redeem or reinstate the original price, Grindr said No. It was a promotional offer. A promotional offer I'd had for 3 years!!!! Yeah right. Lol

Stop over charging for everything is a start. You're now charging for Boost me and at one time on Fresh we could view every profile, now charging $20.00 just to view a few profiles. That's not necessary but greed.

I actually did receive a response from Grindr re the insane price increase and here was their reply 😂🤣

I don't care much about the price, but to pay an expensive price and be bombarded by empty profiles without having an option to block it to protect my privacy from abusers is an abuse itself by grindr, and I'm moving away once my subscription is over.
Not to count the advertisements they put on you, no matter how much you pay, or the moral lessons they pretend to teach with their filter politics, or it being less and less gay each day. Enough is enough.

Here's an example in the UK:
Xtra Monthly is £17.49 vs Unlimited Monthly £34.99 – That’s double the price!

Xtra 3 Months is £34.99 vs Unlimited £69.99 – Also double the price! – Also an £84.99 option

Xtra 6 Months £55.99 vis Unlimited £129.99 - £75 increase!
