Allow people to verificate their profile so it would be less fake accounts

When there’s a fake account trying to get with me and I catch on, I ask to see a face picture of them right now or something so I know it’s real they block me but because they’ve blocked me and I can’t see their account it means I can’t report them for catfishing and having a fake account. So I think when someone blocks you it should give the option of being able to report them before their account disappears. Or have their account disappear with the option to report them.

I don't suggest having a button that will Mark someone as a flake. I think it would be a good idea to have a button for each person signifying an agreement that one person is coming to the other person's place. Upon arriving both people must press a button that verifies the person did not flake. It won't keep flakes from deleting their account and starting fresh all the time but it will show that people who do not flake have a better rating.

With so many fake photos out there, grindr should take measures to protect its users by helping them feel confident that a user’s photos are real.

Other apps are able to show that a photo was taken with the phone’s camera via the app. Or use AI technology (eg. In-app camera scan which then validates that the profile photos are of the same person or flag if the person’s face appears in other profiles).

It baffles me that you can add any social media account as a link, without having to verify that the account is yours. I literally added Miss Piggy's twitter account to my profile, and the link worked... I am not Miss Piggy. This makes it much more difficult to work out if an account is genuine, or if it is a catfish. For the safety of Grindr users, please include a feature that requires users to login to their social media accounts when adding their links to their profiles.

I have even experienced threat to life due to lack of verification. He came with his two partners and started asking for money. I was scared to death and had to pay whatever I had to avoid creating a scene and save myself. This is important for individuals safety as well.

There are so many bots and I’m sure there may be some users on the app too early. Grindr MUST take action to validate its users for the safety of the grid! If it does not, the government will likely step in and pass legislation that may enforce more expensive or less ideal verification methods. It’s in Grindr’s best interest to protect users right now. Why are we even debating this?

Only allowing someone to create an account that has a Valid Identification card or Drivers License. This will stop fake accounts and underage users. Limiting only 1 account per Valid Identification. This will also stop people from creating new accounts when banned.

I would like for Grindr to implement stricter verification for new and existing users in an effort to combat underage individuals posing as adults, bots, etc. I've heard a number of stories of men who have chatted with individuals who they thought were of legal age, only to find out upon meeting them that they're some horny teen. I'm proposing the implementation of verification measures such as ID (Government issued, driver's license, passport, etc), bank account, submitting a facial selfie with a piece of paper visible displaying a verification code, email verification, as well as changing the age requirements to make it so users must be 18 or older to join Grindr. If this is implemented, I'm hoping this sparks a new trend across the internet where sites implement strict verification measurements in an effort to keep minors off the internet.

I was discussing this amongst my Twitter followers the other day and it is beyond disappointing how Grindr lacks something so important. I can understand how hard it must be to be someone who is still closeted and wants to experiment but that is not enough. With the introduction of albums, you could have a feature where you can age verify yourself and still display photo's within an album you can then later share with someone to show who you are. Yes, people like to be discreet but Grindr is a place where countless people are catfished, lied to, and scammed. I used the app for 2 years before I turned legal age (18) and I'm telling you it's so easy to just exist there and not be taken off the app. I have also known people as young as 14 hooking up with people.

This is so important, we need for the safety of ourselves and others to have a system to verify - discreet or not. It is not safe by any chance to be so easily younger or not even who you are on the app. Face pictures should be required, secured in an album or not, but every profile should be verified to be shown to others.

Grindr, I understand isn't specifically a dating app but it needs to feel safer, so many apps now implement a system to verify securely though because of the risk and there is the risk - look at how many articles are made about crimes happening on Grindr.

Anyone who uses the app and has the ability to contact another user in any way, i.e. message, picture, email, voice needs to be verified in some fashion before being able to do so. I have not used Grindr in a while and now see a huge increase in scams and encountered at least 5 users in the last week who set off red flags as I have experience with almost all versions of the Romance Scam.

Add verified pics options and allow users to see and get messages from verified users. There is so much hate and spam on Grindr and sadly you guys don't do anything about it.

En verdad esto es URGENTE. Hay un buen de adolescentes cachondos y lo peor es que algunos de la comunidad son pedofilos (Simplemente se me hace asqueroso.) Si realmente quieren que grindr sea un entorno más seguro para la comunidad deben añadir desde ese momento un sistema se verificación que te pida un ID para interactuar ya sea pasaporte, INE, información de la persona porque también ha habido AMIGOS mios que los han perjudicado a una escala muy delicada ¿Todo por un estupido vato prieto que necesita pasarse por alguien para recibir atención? ¿Es enserio que van a dejar pasar eso? En verdad BASTA, eso lleva AÑOS y eso tiene que parar definitivamente al igual que las personas que son BOTS y justifican diciendo “Vamos a vernos pero primero tienes que pagar en esta app para vernos” También se debe añadir una opción de reportar a las personas que te bloquean porque eso de solo bloquear hacen comentarios indebidos, plagio de identidad y hasta robo de fotos intimas lo cuál eso es delicado. Ojala tomen enserio a la comunidad y escuchen esto porque en verdad tuve que ser “Castigado” por los moderadores cuando tuve que subir él perfil falso desde mi cuenta (Algo bien estupido” Cuando no tienen la opción de reportar él perfil. Por último esas cuentas también deben ser expulsados al Igual que su Id de celular. Mantengase a salvo de perfiles falsos. Cuando hagan esas mejorar, ahora si hagan valer él precio excesivo que personalmente NO VALE LA PENA sin antes arreglar la seguridad de la comunidad

I think catfishing is a huge problem as it’s always been. All these bots accounts or malicious people creating fake accounts. I think Grindr should implement a Verification badge. This will give somewhat better security that you’re actually talking to the person they say they are. Only way to get this verification badge is to send a picture of you holding your Photo ID. The badge is displayable to anyone who views your profile. I’m a content creator and have had multiple people get scammed by catfishes using my pictures.

I really think this is a good idea that should’ve always been around. :)

I think there should be an option to upload a quick introduction video so we can describe ourselves and it also is a good way to To separate real people from the bots

Every profile needs to verify their identity by uploading their documents (authorised documents only) like passport, driving licence..then no one can create fake profile spammers can't login grindr from different profiles..one user id one account policy.. after verification that profile must mentioned as verified profile and also remove the blocking options in profile change as not interested...

Having the option of uploading a short clip or animated photo maybe shuffling through photos would be cool, but I think it would be helpful for those of us not “on the down low” and sick of proving were real if there was a way to upload a video clip as verification repeating a phrase or saying our user name maybe that was viewable within the profile photos publicly because getting asked if I’m fake or told to prove I’m real is a pain I get on the app now only if I’m 100% ready to video chat with people with no profile pic.

There's so many fakers, scammers and catfishes on the site, also there's people underage here as well, there needs to be a huge update that makes people verify that they are who they say they are in the photo, plus I think there needs to be an age verification on here as well for people if they wish to create an account, it would make the app much safer to use for everyone!
