There needs to be done form of warning before a device ban.
And stop hiding behind 'safety & privacy' as to why NOT to give any explanation.
Also stop saying you can appeal a ban.
To do that we need to know why the beam was thrust on us.
Just get told it's final. No explanation at all.

Ive been unnecessarily banned twice now and it seems to be a pretty frequent issue among the other posts like this one. If people are purposely trying to get people banned because they were turned down than a new algorithm should be in place to prevent this. These people should get notified the first time they do it but if they keep doing it why are they not getting banned? it seems to me like they're abusing the rules and shouldn't be able to do this or something should be in place to prevent this.

I was banned almost a year ago and I still can't get my account back because a moderator made a mistake and banned my account. I have tried to get my account back but Grindr insists that I send a face photo, passport copy, and ID.

I will not send sensitive data. Grindr has been hacked in the past and I will never send my private information to their servers. The correct word is Abuse of Power.

A profile should be banned for a maximum of 1 week and not indefinitely. Block the profile (for a week) and delete the conversations. The whole process would be faster and more effective.

There are also many rumors that moderators who work on Grindr have unlimited access and they can do whatever they want. Example: download private photos, unblock banned profiles (special treatment for their friends), etc.

Profiles get frequently banned for unclear reasons and users not infrequently report others for petty reasons or because their attention was simply not reciprocated. Yet Grindr seems to err on the side of banning users regardless. As such, users who get their profiles banned should get a refund for the remaining part of their subscription. It is absolutely UNFAIR of Grindr to just ban people for whatever reason and yet to keep the remaining part of the subscription money in their pocket. The users SHOULD be given their remaining money back.

This ia very true .and when you go to other place and some of house of your friends have wifi conncetion ofcourse the ip address also change.then you detect it and my account is banned.

100% ABSOLUTELY AGREE! Well said. Same happened to me a last year…after using the app for a long time I finally decided to upgrade and subscribe. 3 days later all of a sudden my account was banned, with no warning nor explanation of any kind. I had not had any violations nor issues with the account prior to that. And worst of all I “lost/forcefully forfeited” my fresh payment after just 3 days of use. Had there been a warning out of courtesy for its members whom stayed loyal and also PAID, it would have been averted. I believe this is a fair and just request being made, a gesture of respect for the app followers.

The same thing happen to me in Baton Rouge, I was banned for no apparent reason in able to talk to guys I have build relationships with for years. Just so happen a very nice trusting guy he and I exchanged cell numbers and I was able to get him to relay for me until I could find some help.

There is a NSFW pictures option on profiles however its pointless if there's hundreds of men who don't respect it sending unsolicited nudes. It's really predatory and consent needs to be taken a lot more seriously on this app.

I got banned for no reason out of the blue with no warning or explanation. I think sometimes someone just gets their feelings hurt cause I don’t respond or say I’m not interested and they report people for that. I’m not doing anything wrong but got banned. Why? Make this stop! So annoying!

I’d also like to add: grindr now blocks devices not email addresses so I can’t even start a new account to reconnect with anyone I’ve grown to trust nor maintain my support network I’d spent years forming.

I guess I have been falsely reported as underage.
Because that is the only possibility for which grindr should misunderstand that I'm underaged.
I have been bullied by many people for rejecting hookup and sex. I have been abused by calling several disgusting words on me and my family. And I was blocked and reported too.
I have created multiple accounts from same mobile number to stay away from these bullies.
(This is because I have read somewhere from Grindr's website that upto 5 emails can be linked to a mobile number).

And one fine day, Grindr banned all my accounts, and device.
I have gone through the ban appeal process.
Grindr responded that "due to some reasons" they thought I was underage.
So I was directed to submit a photograph showing my face and email, governmental ID proof documents. I have submitted all of these and described everything I have mentioned in above.

That was the end. Afterwards Grindr did not respond to mail. I have again appealed the ban. I wrote several mails. None of them were answered.
It was like Grindr support had ghosted me.
My ban isn't lifted. And mails are ignored.

Is this justice ? Or is this fair ? Is this the user experience Grindr offers ?
I could correct any fault if I ever did (at least if I knew). But having no response to anything I request is purely unfair, in my opinion.
