How is the other request under 1k votes? I just learned about sides today and I've been one for years and didn't know what to call it. I love oral but do not like anal stimulation. I wish there was an option for it so people will stop asking "aRe'nT yOu a bOtToM tHO"? Putting oral bottom in my bio doesn't work so if I could make my position "Side" that would be fantastic

THIS!!! Yes please!!! I came to this page to suggest the same update. Why not have “Side” listed as a position as it is becoming increasingly more acknowledged in the LGBTQ+ community!!

STILL NO OPTION FOR SIDES! As others have suggested, there should be an option under position for sides. These are gay men that don’t have penetrative sex. This would save confusion and make the experience of matching with the right people easier. I’m honestly surprised this hasn’t been implemented sooner.

The person that wrote "Side position" makes a very valid point, his post is well written and honest. I would like to add an important comment here. Oral sex is 99.9% safe from passing around the HIV infection that causes AIDS. Anal sex along with the added BB is 99.9% sure that someone will be infected with HIV if the top person is positive. Yes add a Oral Only (OO). I have no problem meeting and/or dating someone positive........OO sex of course.

It has been nearly a year since this issue with 837 UPVOTES was posted. Face it, friends. Grindr is not listening and doesn't care. I just deleted the app and I suggest you do too if it doesn’t represent you.

Please please please please please- seems like such a simple and non controversial option that would save a lot of time and disappointment.

And everybody, "Side" doesn't mean "oral only." It means, "everything but anal." It means "I don't f*ck." What's left includes a world of alternatives from vanilla to kink. It is a signal to those who think anal is the only sex there is to leave me the hell alone, and for the MANY guys like me to know that they will not have to deal with that myopic pressure from me, because I get it: Sex between men is much more than just tops and bottoms and pеnises going into butts. A "Side" designation will actively help us find each other so stop stalling. Leaving it out indicates that Grindr is as myopic as all of those who can't think outside the hole.

I don't understand the need for a new 'appropriation' of a common word when "oral only" is perfectly descriptive. Tops and bottoms can be oral only. But what if you're Side but you don't give, just receive? Now we need another word for those two specialties. What about solosexual? Every preference can't be special. Just list your preferences in your profile. Easy fix. People also have a misunderstanding of whether oral sex is a top activity or a bottom activity. Giving or receiving, etc. I am more confused by needing a special category for 'oral only'. I think 'oral' is an option right along with 'top', 'bottom' already isn't it? Incidentally, giving oral is a 'top' activity, getting oral is a 'bottom' activity.

Oh god, please please add a Side option, it would help so many of us the time and energy.
