Grinder is using an algorithm to present you with profiles and not a true representation of those in your area. You can test this by picking a certain type of profile that DOES NOT interest you and then constantly blocking that type since they have removed the ethnicity filter. The result is that the platform shows you even more of those profiles. This is a fraudulent practice of real representation of those in your area. You can further test this by simply comparing your profiles displays with someone sitting next to you with the exact same filter settings. Sketchy - very very sketchy!

My messages aren't sending. I can see profiles getting refreshed, checked for app updates. Etc. What's going on ?

Add back filters so people can find sexually capatible matches. This has nothing to do with anything else

The ethnicity filter is not racism
The whole point of grindr and other dating apps is to be able to find someone who you want to meet for whatever reason you want to meet them. Everyone has their own preferences, this is not racism or prejudice it is simply preference. Personally i prefer asian and black guys and so usually have that filter on, does this mean im being racist to all other ethnicities? No it doesn't.
If grindr are going to go down this route then they should remove all filters so that the pandering of political correctness is complete. What would Grindr do if people under six foot were to complain? Would they then remove the height filter? It is a slippery slope and should not be used as a banner for other peoples agendas.

Please bring back the ethnicity filter. It makes it easier and possible for ethnic minorities to be visible. Without the filter the ethnic majority dominates the app in terms of representation and visibility which is probably the opposite of Grindr's intentions in removing the ethnicity filter. I thought I was the only person in a sea of political correctness that has gone seriously off the rails. Until I found you all. Thank god there are others. I’m a white guy who prefers to date men with different skin colours to my own. Other than white, I really don’t mind, it’s just my personal preference and choice and it has been tested For accuracy time and time again. When I complained to Grindr, I got the stock reply, “black lives matter / read our tweet” etc. Of course black lives matter. But why have you stopped me from dating them (and all other ethnicities) if that’s my choice. The long contributor above or below me in this chat summed up his viewpoint perfectly. Screening them out because I don’t often date them. I too have Cancelled my unlimited membership and hardly use Grindr anymore. I definitely regret buying a year‘S membership.

Please bring back the race filters. I am a subscriber. The reason is the features of the app, especially the position and Race filters. Really? I get it, but this is America; the race is a human-made concept, but it here now. Removing the filter is so racist.

In this crazy time of everyone suddenly getting on the BLM bandwagon, I just can’t believe Grindr have followed and taken out the ethnicity preference away. I’m not being racist, I actually prefer black guys, but now I have to trawl through profiles to even find one to chat with!!

Yeah please bring back the ethnicity filter. How can it be rasist to have preferences? I'm black, I'm not into blacks, not at all. I know that there are people which are not into blacks and that's fine to me. Why not? I mean we are humans everyone has another taste in that world. When you want to order pizza, you'll set your filter for italian food. Not American, not Asian, not African or something except italian. Again. Please bring back the filter.

The main reason I chose to upgrade was for this filter. I live in an area that has very little diversity and would prefer to have a choice to be able to filter for my personal preferences.

I get why you did it and applaud trying to make a change for social injustices but this is not at all a social injustice. It’s a preference and if their are people that want to take it to that level then they should 100% be reported but to take away ones ability to choose what ethnicity they are aloud to see is counter productive. I’ll just take my personal experience as one example but I live in an area of 95% Caucasians so I feel if I want to meet anyone that’s not Caucasian then I either have to drive somewhere else or just deal with it.

Please make a change but until then I will be canceling my subscription since it is now useless for me since that was 90% the reason I purchased it each month

For at least the past 2 days the filters are not working

I’m Caucasian, but love Latin, Mediterranean, Arab, Indian, Asian guys....I have friends of every ethnicity/minority. I know who physically stimulates me for dating and/or hookups. Bring back the filter, otherwise remove ethnicity option from profiles to begin with.

I’m an asian and used the ethnicity feature to find the other asians and another minority gays communities. Where I live, they are very limited to none of the space or events that minority gays can safely gather or meet. I find the feature helpful to the minority person like myself. Please kindly bring back the ethnicity filter. Thank you
