I totally agree with this request - It's not about being a racist at all and it is very short-sighted and narrow-minded to suggest that everything to do with ethnicity is racism.
The whole point of Grindr is to offer LGBT community especially gay men an opportunity to enjoy their preferred ****** orientation. Within that choice are many other finer selective criteria that we would like to be able to have freedom to choose - height, weight, body shape, colour, etc.
It's not about racism and Grindr is MAKING it a racist issue. It also has absolutely nothing to do with #BLM.. what nonsense. Twinks matter, bears matter, white guys matter - everyone flipping matters, but let me have the right to choose who matters to ME!!
You cannot position yourself as commanding the pedestal of righteousness by telling people how to behave - what a load of ****!

I miss the ethnicity filter. A preference is a preference. I don’t like sifting through a lot of profiles that I have zero interest. Why did this go away? Please bring it back. There’s nothing racist about having a preference. This isn’t a job interview.

I upgraded to extra because I have a history of being abused by white men - as such I liked the ability to screen against them as I find many of them triggering. Please restore the ability to remove this tigerrer for me or refund me my premium subscription...

Instead of getting rid of the ethnicity filter for prejudice, get rid of the options to post “no blacks” “no whites” “no trans” “trans only” “whites only” on profiles. That’s more prejudice than anything. It’s no difference filtering ethnicity and bottom shaming, trans shaming, poz shaming, and allocating by weight, height, and tribes. Sometimes people are just into a certain ethnic background and it’s a shame to not be able to celebrate that. Some people are into chubs, some people are into men above 6 feet. We should be able to find and filter what we are looking for and that includes ethnicity. It’s not discrimination. Its the exact opposite.

Instead of getting rid of ethnicity(which no one asked for), find a way to filter what where into and tier profiles at what we’re looking for. Sometimes people are only into certain things. Or not into certain things. There should be a way to set that. Maybe create a not into feature that’s kept secret and all those profiles with that feature are automatically removed from that persons feed. That would be more useful. Sometimes you’re just not a fit for everyone. And you don’t have to discriminate in order to do so. Find our ideal matches only.

You shouldn’t be able to promote what you dislike. Keep it hidden.

I’m only interested in Latino men, period. I’d pay to filter by ethnicity. Also, I don’t want to even chat with someone who is HIV positive, I would pay to filter them out of my grid entirely.

You are not really only attracted to black guys. You have a deep rooted fetish. Distance yourself from us.

Actual black users want the ethnicity filter back. Maybe actually talk to a black gay person and not just white gays before deciding to ruin it.

So it seems not so many folks are happy about you removing the Ethnicity Filter. How about you consider adding an Ethnicity Preference.

No matter what anyone says about choosing to flirt or **** certain people, their appearance plays hugely into the picture. If you prefer black hair over blonde, or blue eyes over brown, you get the picture. I for one prefer any Asian person over my own or any other ethnic group. I paid for a premium subscription just for that ability to find Asian men within a predominantly white population. I’m white by the way.

My subscription is expiring in September and I have already cancelled my renewal. I would prefer you give me a Ethnicity Preference search and I would renew.

The decision to remove the ethnicity filter was not properly thought about! There are pages & pages of requests for it to be reinstated with so many votes in total. If Grindr is not going to reinstate the ethnicity filter then they need to reimburse customers ASAP!

Totally agree about removing the ethnicity filter—why?? Because it made someone feel better in the current environment ?? Using Grindr now is annoying.

Please bring back the option to choose what ethnic background and Race. It’s not prejudice or racist to be able to choose your preferred type of guy you like in regards to their ethnic or racial background

Why only POC should have the privilege of searching for an ethnic group?
Why grindr should discriminate on the basis of race forbidding any non POC user to user the ethnicity filter?
