Just like age , height , weight, race should be a filter. You cannot help If you have a specific preference.

If the ethnicity preference caused such a problem for some people could it be replaced by a spoken language option?An option where people could list more than one. It would mean community groups could find each other again. English could be split into accents, dialects etc. Urban Music seems to generally mean black music, so perhaps an ‘urban English’ option.

Grindr should refrain from censoring its users preferences by omission. Imagine General motors stopped selling certain colors of cars for some absurd political reason.

Taking this away from us is just the developer of Grindr giving in to social justice BS. There is nothing racist about being attracted to certain races any more than it being wrong to be attracted to someone because they're muscular, or skinny, chubby, hairy, etc. It's the same as liking the look of some products over others. Personally, there are no races that I don't find attractive, but if given a choice, there are some that I would choose over others. I'm not racist because of this. I just know what looks I am attracted to. It's really that simple. When I see someone's profile that self righteously says something like "If you have a race preference don't talk to me", I just block them and move on. I don't have time for that crap. Unfortunately the gay community is full of racists, just like all of the others. There are also a lot of guys who are ageists, and guys who fetishize certain types of men. Grindr cannot fix that, so it's best not to try.

Remove or group all the ethnicity filter suggestions on user voice

Bring ethnicity back as a selection to view. Other apps allow us to select ethnicity so this one should bring it back

After the newest update, they REMOVED it completely.

We used to have an ethnicity option, where we can choose to search by a list of different ethnicities. I don't see that option anymore

Take age away from the name. Age is also something that is scrutinized

Turn it back On! Charging for the filters and not providing them to paying customers is false advertising. I'm not asking for my one month subscription back because I saw that it wasn't working during my free 7 day trial, that's my bad. So please turn it back on, some of us do like different "flavors".

Well said. Very shortsighted. Might as well remove all other filter options cause they are as "problematic". I'm white, but I'm not so much into other white guys, so the filter was very useful to filter through. Now it only show guys all over. Not sure who actually benefits from the removal. Seems like the white guys

Agree. Or they might as well remove body type filter. So people can't discriminate against fat people and have to see them while scrolling. Also remove age while at it, cause ageism is also real, can't have that on grindr. And also make all profiles mandatory blank so we'll finally stop discriminating based on looks.

I agree one hundred 100% they've done just the opposite of what they were trying to, I myself like Asian guys and now I can't find them
