Please restore ethnicity filter
I am Asian, and I would like to have the ethnicity filter option back. As a "minority", I don't think the filter option is racist. It offers me choices. Sometimes I want to search for Asians for example,, and if there is this option, it will make my search much easier to find.

I have been a paying extra subscriber for almost 5 yrs, February 3rd it is up for renewal and I WILL NOT BE RENEWING, being a paying subscriber i should be able to choose the men and type and ethnicity im attracted to, I am white and how is possible im racist because im attracted to other ethnicities, if anything it promotes racial equality by liking and wanting other races outside my own

Face it, people. Grindr is NOT listening to their customers that are paying money for their service. They either need to restore ALL potential filters for ALL fields in which we can populate — OR — make the app free. I am sure that I am not alone being really pissed off that they gladly take my money, but consistently remove the exact features we are paying to have available. I’m confident that this board is only being used for us to vent frustrations, there is no one reading these but US. No one from Grindr, else they would have at least had the common decency to state their case. They haven’t, we simply are sheep until WE act and STOP paying for subscriptions. Stop lining their pockets and they will eventually listen, but not before.

So True! I quit using Grindr Xtra because of Grindr's stupid half-baked political stance like black lives do matter but so does every life. It has nothing to do though with who I want to fu*k! I quit Grindr Xtra because it's a even bigger task and waste of time now looking for "dates" without ethnicity filters!

How many votes will it take to return this option?
Selecting an option on ethnicity is no more discriminating than selecting age, weight, height or any of the other options currently available.
If it so discriminatory to have it then why is ok for Grindr to ask this question and for it to be included in our profile?????
In fact by removing it it makes the situation worse as you can’t filter your personal preference and find a match more quickly. People are more offended when you let them know that your not interested because that are not a match!! -

It sucks that we can no longer filter using race. I'm a black man and I'm attracted to black men but since you took out the race filter I now have to look at 1000 white men.

It is great that native Americans are recognised as an ethnicity. But the app should improve the ethnicity field to allow for better representation of other indigenous groups.

How do we find out any update on this.
I’ve ended up using my other apps more, since the ethnicity preferences was deleted.
When I’ve read other responses, it seems the predominate choice is to have them restored.Do you send updates on GRINDR’s decision.
Are the messages having any affect a out a reversal. Why ask for comments, if the %
of responses indicate reversal, but apparently, nothing has changed. -

I am Black in a predominantly white town. I like to meet people who look like me; It makes me feel more comfortable. I hope to one day marry another BLACK man because only he will relate to the struggles I go through. I don’t like that people automatically thought of racism when seeing that filter because now I barely if ever see a black person on the app. Thanks Grindr smh. Ps. Why would you want ppl who don’t like your ethnicity to see your profile in their searches anyway? I don’t want racists seeing me lmao. Bring back the filter!!

preferring people of one's ethnicity is not racism

As a black man who primarily prefers white men I can honestly say this is BULLSHIT! I love “my people and culture” I just don’t wanna fuck any of them. It’s super crappy that this is Grindr’s attempt at being racially sensitive. It’s inconvenient and honestly makes buying Grindr extra not worth the money.

Well agreed and I am saying this as a POC. Everyone should be allowed to search and filter however they want to date across the ethnic spectrum or perhaps one wants to filter just for a few. It cuts down any confusion or folks not answering or people writing to someone who has not interest in them.
A very odd thing to have and then remove. It does not make any sense almost every other dating app has that option.
I am left of left but doing this is just a bit too much and seems they are taking features out than adding them in, yet their price point is not going any lower.
