I personally am not sexually attracted to Asians I can’t help my body’s naturally occurring arousal that being said I am sick of being called a racist because I do not particularly have a sexually attracted a sexual attraction to them I have plenty of Asian friends in fact some of my best friends in the past have been Asians but I will say I have been ostracized for the fact that I am not attracted to them and I don’t appreciate it because that is actually telling somebody that their sexuality is not OK and I think that’s what most LBGTQ people have been fighting against Their whole livesIt’s the same thing as me saying I’m not sexually attracted to women so please put this in consideration when people are calling me racist because I don’t find Asians attractive

As a black man, the removal of this feature has made things more difficult for me not better. I am gay, black and live in a very small Midwest town, a place that makes being gay hard enough but being black AND gay nearly unbearable. The ethnicity filter used to allow me to find a safe space of fellow gay POC that I could communicate with and share our similar experience when trying to find other gay POC out in the town is not an option. With the ethnicity filter gone, this safe space has been eliminated. My grinder app looks just like everything else in my town, and had made it made it impossible to easily find new friends. Also, I don’t only date other POC, I am attracted to all ethnicities, so this isn’t even a sexual preference thing, it’s just the elimination of a feature that used to provide me an easy way to seek out others that could support each other though common experience.

I spent all of my time blocking and deleting people that are probably lovely but are simply not my type. There is absolutely nothing racist about preferring dark hair over blondes. There’s nothing racist about preferring short guys over tall guys there’s nothing racist about preferring Slender or muscular guys over thicker bear types. And there is most certainly nothing racist about preferring darker skin over lighter skin or medium skin, Asian, African, Scandinavian, Scottish, South American etc. so please reinstall the feature. Any suggestion it’s ethically biased or racist is pure baloney. My dick literally will not get hard unless I’m with a person that is my type. So what is the point.... unless this feature is reinstalled I am considering dropping Grindr altogether. Nonstop blocking just to find a handful of people that are my type. Truly a waste of time.

Yes you are all racists. It being a preference just means it’s racism that has been instilled in you so intrinsically, and probably at such a young age you actually believe it’s just natural and not racism. Sorry to tell you, it definitely is. I guess you can thank mom and dad for your deeply ingrained “preferences.”

Looking for love is not easy and sometimes coming from the same background helps the future couple to find lots of similarities and become easier to be accepted by their family.

Lack of ethnicity filter for those who are fond of minorities.
The removal of the filter was dumb, it’s mostly not used to filter out minorities, but rather to specifically search for them for those who have a specific interest

Seriously bring this back. I’m not a racist because I have sexual preference. Believe it or not, there’s no therapy that’ll force me to change my taste in men. Ridiculous PR move and honestly completely out of touch.

I think grinder should re consider this future bring back to life or Ban other filters like weight or poz some people can discriminate on this too! I used ethnic search as I love asian guys and other guys too!

Why did you erase or blocked the filtre option related to ethnic o racial type? I always used to looking black men, so it is no possible. I had pay recently, please fix this issue

We all have the right to ethnicity filters to day we are into spanish guys black guys or any other. I am not a person who judges but this is a basic right to have and at this point the app is taking that away from the people

I Live in Australia and I’m Latino I also like meeting other latino guys but there is rarely any in my country the ethnicity filter actually helps me finds guys in my culture I can talk to in my language it’s really good.

Where I live is, there are so few Arabs and Black men. Please... Restore it. It is not racism. It is the kind of men I try to find. Now it is impossible to find what I look for... Please restore this filter. It is so important, because I love BBC. And now... Impossible to find where I live. Because, I even could to make bigger distance to find one.

Based on the comments I feel there is overwhelming approval for restoring the ethnicity filter.. I can choose which age group I want I can choose top or bottom, I can choose height. I can choose weight. What’s the problem with using ethnicity. I block people who are too young and too skinny all the time just like I block people who are too old and too fat all the time. I will take it one step further and say if I go to the supermarket to get a frozen pizza I don’t hang out in the produce section and wonder where all the pizza is. In that sense it’s not very deep. Please restore this feature ASAP it causes me to use the app far less.

With in my ethnic community is a very small percentage of gay men and this filter used to help me talk to other gay men that I could relate to but now all I get are people from my neighborhood that who seem a lil prejudice. With this filter many POC’s can find each other with a click of a button

Being as gay and Living in Asian country is not easy where there is no or zero tolerance against gays. Also we are being hated by community and also other races within gay community here. You’re limiting our chance to meet or socialise with my own race gays. This is next level stress to LGBT community In asia. Instead helping and supporting us you’re giving us hard time on top of usual discrimination within my own country. Request you to restore the feature. We are overwhelmed with too much stress depression; we need to meet our own race gays. Grindr stop your drama and Let us live the life please
