Please restore ethnicity filter
I am Asian, and I would like to have the ethnicity filter option back. As a "minority", I don't think the filter option is racist. It offers me choices. Sometimes I want to search for Asians for example,, and if there is this option, it will make my search much easier to find.

They will accuse you of being a "fetishist" of whatever ethnicity group you mingle with. Grindr has gone insane. I'm on gay romeo now, I paid the early subscription, I can use the ethnicity filter in order to see ONLY potentially matches instead of seeing MOSTLY not matches as it happens in Grindr.

So basically we can filter out only white people, that's not racist no? ah of course... because accordingly to the Black Lives Matter experts they also codified it basically a black gay man can say "NO WHITES" and that wouldn't be racist because in the collective imagination white men were the only slave owners, which is not even true as many black men were slave owners as well as arabs and who knows what... slavery was globally spread since ancient times. So now try to tell me that Black Lives Matter is not a racist movement ahahha

why do you want to help Grindr to keep discriminating against their users' sexual preferences? I don't mind black men at all but to stick to your example, if someone doesn't want to have a romance with black men because he only fancies porcelain white english boys why the hell you should force black men on his grid?

They removed it because some political activists belonging to the fascist marxist Black Lives Matter movements in the United States claimed it is racist to chose your romance by ethnic group. I know it sounds ridiculous but it's very concerning as this is cropping up also in some supposedly """scientific papers""". So basically there is some woke superior race of left wing men that want to lecture you on who you should be having a romance and sleep with. Nothing wrong as long people like to waste their time discussing about this (de gustibus non est disputandum), the problem comes when this put limitation on our free choice and discriminate against our sexual preferences. I suggest you to search and votes for all the feed back suggestions like your by searching ethnicity or ethnicities in the search box.

Done already. I bought gay romeo yearly subscription. The ethnicity filter is unlimited, they don't try to lecture you on who you should have a romance with by controlling the ethnicity of the people they will show you on the grid, you chose.

Exactly. The ethnicity filter would help a caucasian male like me to mingle with middle eastern men that I'm particularly fond of and it would be very positive in terms of inter ethnic relationships. This is healthy, natural and sane. This is NOT racism and it is NOT fetishisation, thinking otherwise is insane. The stupid choice of Grindr CEO Jeff Bonforte from his comfy office in woke California to force me to fill up the grid with all the people *HE* wants me to see and that I do now want to see on a dating app is totally failing the product that's supposed to be used to find a MATCH and not to find everybody else who is not a match. At that point I can go to Facebook or any gay bar and it would be much more effective and fun. All this happening because woke Jeff Bonforte wanted to bow to the fascist marxist racist movement of Black Lives Matters. Jeff your app is global, keep your woke politics in California! You won't see my money back, I just bought a yearly subscription to gay romeo where I can use the ethnicity filter as much as I can.

Well put! bear in mind that everyone has got the right to their sexual preferences, not only those who would be classed as "minority". Caucasian people shouldn't be forbidden to use the ethnicity filter. They're not going to see my money until the ethnicity filter is back because currently they're failing to help me finding a match.

The ethnicity filter should be available to anyone regardless if they are considered minority or not. Sexual desire is not racist and not fetish. If I wanted to connect with the community of middle easterns while not being myself from the middle east I shouldn't be stopped doing so, I shouldn't be criminalised and accused of being racist and fetishist. If I wanted to remove anyone else the same applies. The only reason the filter has been removed is to cater a left wing stupidly woke agenda from the senior management in California that pretend to lecture us on who we should have romance and sex with. Grindr is forcing us to meet people we don't want to meet. We are being used by Grindr as a social engineering project. Grindr is not the product, we are THE PRODUCT.

Ethnicity filter allows for minorities to find each other in an area. By removing it you have made it difficult for ethnic minorities to find, support and love each other. Removing it was a tone deaf (if not well meaning) solution to complicated problems that were brought up during the Black Lives Matter protests. Instead of grappling with the difficult issue of racism on Grindr and amongst lgbtq+ people, a simple solution was made, which as usual, harmed the very people you was trying to help.

I’m not a huge fan of allowing the gays to contribute to this heteronormative expression of “not my type” -ing with this filter but I’ve been “trapped” before not knowing what to say when pictures don’t reveal ethnicity and it contributed to an awkward conversation of how this “doesn’t work for me.” I suppose it’s racist 🤷♂️ but whether it’s preconceived notions that the White cis-male Christ loving and fucking structure have pounded in my skull all my life, - … grinder is not the place to have that dialogue or to be “woke” I mean it’s a Fuck site so having a come to Jesus moment with an Asian male about stereotypes and ethnicity sifting is appropriate scholastically or over 156 dollar coffee and Philz, not at some trick’s house when you’re trying to remember if you took your Descovy before fucking. I mean come on? Give us back that filter.

actually I'm in boat of i prefer asian guys as a mixed guy myself problem is theres too many persons im not into coming up. i can not support grindr if this is like this tbh. i have very picky attractions in general. and while cant say theres any race i dont like 100% there are some who's genetic facial structures are often unattractive or tbh their body builds. the colors don't phase me either way its certain looks traits that are common with some that do. i can't pay grindr any more i cancelled my subscription and will not pay or use app til restored! period! I am only ever seeking asian or latino guys and its hard enough finding asian tops with thst filter near me in smaller town away from all cities. so fuck grindr and their homophobic ceo who is against gay marriage and does not understand gay culture at all

Would be cool if could filter race alone and build type alone

The removal of the ethnicity filter is such a bullshit. It makes me use grindr less because I hate scrolling through profiles looking for what I am interested in.

This feature (removal of it) was introduced in good faith to be more inclusive. However, it makes things more difficult. For instance, I like Black guys. I can't filter for my type. Lots of people agree. Far more than the vocal woke minority who convinced you guys to impose this on us. No disrespect, I understand why, but it's just lame. We have types. Let's us look for them and set our feed with who we want to be with and meet.

Having an attraction to something more than something else isn’t racist, as gay people we should all understand that attraction isn’t a choice.
