Barely any black people on in my neighborhood so even with the filter it wouldn't make much difference unless I was looking to travel. Buuut it would be nice for vacationing lol. Plus people from similar ethnical/racial backgrounds tend to have more in common so it only makes sense that a dating site would use this as a filter.

Loss of data: Nearby, Fresh, Viewers, Messages, Taps, Faves. Seems the App can't help but periodically keep destroying the data contained therein for no apparent reason, (back-ups not withstanding).

Connectivity: Periodically, swiping to refresh screens/tabs results in the Retry msg popping up over & over regardless of how many times you press Retry, it doesn't take.
It has a total zero effectiveness to restore any of the completely missing data from any of a # of tabs ranging from Nearby, Fresh, Viewers, Messages, Taps, Faves, as well as sending messeages.
Shutting down the app is insufficient as well. One must do any # of the following & hope data remains intact. Restart/Update/Uninstall App, or run updates for any of the following operating systems, Android/Samsung/PlayStore, etc., before the App returns to operating properly, with or without data being irretrievably wiped out, corrupted or needing to execute a Restore Back-up, or Data Download process.

Build a better mousetrap ... your systems have issues that need addressing. Thank you.

If someone does not want to list their ethnicity at all (not sure how making people guess is a better option...) then that's fine, but if that is the case then that person should not be allowed to see what ethnicity others are.
If you leave yours blank then you should get blank back.

Exactly. It's a dating platform and I am not discriminating anybody by choosing my preference. If that was one choosing from a menu at a restaurant should also be forbidden. Also choosing body type have to disappear as it's discrimination, too. I am open for all cultures, colours and races. But the freedom to look for what I really want for a date has to be free.

I was really pissed as a paying customer to find out this basic functionality had been removed. Never did Grindr poll its users or discuss with any of us. They just did it to get some PC credit. Well that won't do them any good if they go out of business for screwing over their customers and removing popular functionality from the app! Wake up, Grindr. Your customers are NOT going to pay unless we get added functionality that helps us find what we want. Taking it away is a losing business model. I will never again pay for a subscription until the ethnicity filter is brought back. Period.

The stupidest thing Grindr ever did was get rid of one of its most basic and most used filters: ethnicity. In a bow to political correctness, Grindr likely lost thousands of paying subscribers. Why would I pay for the app if I can't even filter for what I want even with a paid subscription? I'm an adult. If I have a flavor for a certain ethnicity or they for me, nothing is wrong with that. Indeed, the lack of functionality now makes it difficult to find ethnic minorities in a sea of white suburbia where I live. I will not pay for a subscription again until the ethnicity filter is restored. Period.
