Block someone after they block you
A lot of users play games, then block you. How about an option to block them as well, AFTER they block you? This way they can't unblock you and then start again with a new pic or profile.

If I block you, you are removed from my grid, messages, favorites, and all history and subsequently I am removed for you. The only way you still show up is if your grid is cached and not refreshed. Tested this multiple times abs with the API

Heartfelt from a paying customer...It's sad that Grindr continues to ignore this issue. Revenue before anything i guess. How about Grindr actually implements a bidirectional block feature so that both parties can never find each other again if one blocks the other? Your platform as it is actually enables abusers...unless your decision makers get off on this type of behavior? The law doesn't prevent you from internally using IMEI or other unide device ID numbers for verification purposes in your app. Yet it's 2021 and all you've done is increase the subscription cost. From one dev to another (if you even read these comments) please implement this basic feature to reduce the daily abuse occuring on your app, i guarantee you it's a relatively simple update. It's just a matter of time before another life is taken because your app enables cowards to hide behind a veil only Grindr controls. Imo your user agreement better account for this loophole... otherwise I can smell a future legal scandal.

I'm pretty sure the chat history is cleared when you block and unblock someone? Certainly seems to be the case from my end.

Being able to block those whom block you would reduce the chances of being unblocked by that user and harassment proceeds. This is a huge 😳 concern of mine and being taunted on the day to day basis. Yes I have constantly escalated the situation but it never gets resolved. Plus those catfishers, or low self esteem issue individuals delete and/or create new accounts to purposely harass others. There's a thing in schools to catch a pet and how long you can hold them on your leash, these pets are gay men via dating apps. Disallow rooted devices, prevent GPS spoofing, IMEI, DID/ECID/CID/Serial #, UUID and so on. This has already caused 7 deaths this past two months because of how cruel these kids and some adults are pulling off on your platform. You have now been alerted regarding this matter.

Absolutely those are the people who have stated hatred and evil gestures and then they are set free!

I get quite a few hate messages, I suspect from the same person due to the patter they follow. They send me a hate message or tell me they are going to burn my house down, and then immediately block me. I can very briefly view their message, but never long enough to take a screenshot or go to their profile to report them. Due to this sort of loophole, people can harass me and I can't do anything about it. I don't know why I haven't just moved on a ditched the app for good, but I'm getting pretty close.

Someone just called me the hard r and a lot of other slurs that nobody would be ok with and blocked me and I was gonna report him. He’s going to do it to other people for sure. Just wish I could have reported him somehow but the profile disappeared right after he sent it

A reason for blocking helps the blocked person too. It gives him feedback on what not to do with his next "hook". If I was the blocked person I would like feedback on our conversation, to improve my conversations.

The person who blocks someone owes his profile while he can unblock it. When someone is blocked both profiles should not be reachable ever anymore. That's not fair the person who blocks can control the person blocked.

In a way, the person who blocks someone owns the blocked person, because he can unblock them whenever he likes. When someone is blocked, both profiles should not be reachable ever again. It's not fair the person who blocks can control the person blocked.

Mutual blocking is required, one person can't get the undue advantage of blocking and being able to see the person in his blocklist

If I block someone because I work with them, I can still see their face and title. Colleagues who blocked me can still see mine - very awkward! Block it both ways.
If you need a way to distinguish between people that you've blocked, use the time blocked or reason for blocking.

When someone blocks your profile you can have the possibility to block him too.

Now that individual unblock is active it's possible for people who you've chatted with to temporarily block you, and then quietly much later unblock and have all your chats and photos back without you knowing. There should be an option that if someone who you've chatted to blocks you then you can double block to prevent them secretly getting all this back.

Make it to where you don't know they have blocked you.. Their profile and messages are still visible.. I bet the haters will stop abusing the block feature..
