I'm convinced that Grindr has the ability to make it possible for us to change the notification ringtone for iPhone users too. Please, I'm counting on you Grindr. Being able to get notifications in public without everyone around knowing what you are doing will be a fantastic change for the app.

You can do this today on Android phones

Can't we just mute our phones in public, or just turn off the audible notification? I keep my iPhone muted at all times. I don't like having any audible notifications. My Apple Watch provides the notification by tapping my wrist. No one can hear it, and it's easily ignored if I'm too busy to check my messages.

It would help keep privacy if we could choose our own sounds for notification.I don't need the only sound for Grindr going off in a group of people where who knows how many will recognize it. The haters of the world could use this as a means to identify they're next victim. And victim of what? Death,torture, dismemberment or worse? As it is I will force stop Grindr to prevent notifications from coming in at undesired time. That Jake e only make me delete, not subscribe. Choose your path, I will do the same.

3 years later and this is still a problem. It’s exactly why I’ve switched to a new primary app. It’s crazy how the developers disregard the voice of its customers.

I'm not sure about on iPhones but if you have an Android phone of any sorts you can go into your phone settings click on the app that you'd like to change the ringtone of and then change it to anything that you have saved on your phone file wise. You just can't do it through the Grindr app itself.

I would like to be able to change to any sound I would like to have.

All of a sudden I'm getting grinder notifications that are loud, long, and totally unappropriate. Just a little sound would be nice. This is now the loudest and longest sound I have on my phone and frequently it's going off. It's annoying. It would be nice to select our own notification sound. This totally sucks!

It is sooo annoying that the app clicks whenever you send a message not to mention that annoying sound when you receive a message. A complete disregard for people’s need to be discreet for obvious reasons .. wake up Grindr !!

Could be an XTRA or Unlimited feature, but a Discreet Notification Sound option would be great for those of us not wanting everyone to know we were on Grindr recently. Even the option to toggle between default iPhone/Android notification sounds or legacy Grindr note would be a desirable attribute.

I wonder how many of grindr users like to be littel discreet and have the opportunity to change the notifications sounds. Could add this to everyone or for xtra/unlimited member.

Give users (especially paid users) option to choose notification sounds. Some users want to be discreet and don’t want an iconic notification to sound on their phone!

People already know this apps sound and its hard to go discreet anymore.

I would like to select the notification ring tone for Grindr as it's often embarrassing when it rings if I'm at work or around people.
