This app should only have men and trans men on it in the first place.

The data is collected so why not search on it?
If identifying is an issue. Then give users option to decline to state -

Please don’t limit someones gender identity with only a handful of answers to choose from. You need the other, where one can write their own answers As we know Gender is a spectrum. As users, If you see abuse report it or disrespectful humor report it. The folks at Grinder should have a policy and set procedures how to handle these problems.

A gender filter is NECESSARY and NOT discriminatory for two reasons; (1) it helps marginalized users find people they are most comfortable with and (2) it allows the grid to find people they are actually interested in meeting. Let’s make this happen!

Add a gender filter so that people not attracted to men, like lesbians, can use the app. We don’t have many apps for casual stuff.

I’m a bi (cis) man, but I prefer cis men and women. Sorry, but that is what I prefer and wish that there was filter for that and to hide from those that do not fit my preferences.

Grindr is a gay connection site which has been mostly for m/m but since there's more trans/fem there probably should have a option to show either:
1: gay (men/Bi/couples) or 2: trans/fem
(m/f trans/nonbinary/ fem)

On the French version change the option that has "ils" (they) to "iel". The existing options are a BAD translation as this is what is generally preferred by non-binary French speakers.

Women shouldn't be on here. There is literally hundreds of sites for them. Gay or bi men looking for men only

Am option for "Sexuality: gay, bisexual, bi-curious... Etc."
I know this app is for men looking for men, but it's common for male/female couples to be on as well looking for men, as well. I feel awkward when I ask "are you into just males or are yook with males and females?" Because we don't have the option to read if someone is bisexual outside of tags, which some people don't use (some may not want to use tags, some may not know how that works, some just don't know what it's there for, etc). 🤷🏻♀️ Not trying to be rude, but is rather not be rude and bothersome when asking if gents are into just males or into males and females.

Gay Men love women. And some gay men don’t prefer women. Meanwhile some women ARE GAY.. and that means some men prefer to be open with a woman and finding a woman on Grindr means a man doesn’t have to have difficult talks explaining what he likes. He knows this woman is aware of why he’s on the app.. so now all he has to do is be himself. I agree to have the preference filters for gender and ethnicity preference. I created an account because my gay friend begged me to for years. They had men constantly requesting to see me through them .. so much can be said.

Gay isn’t a Male only thing. And most Males on Grindr prefer women over men as most types are DL and call an anus a pussy .. so those with actual vaginas like myself shouldn’t be flagged because we don’t have a penis… some trans women don’t have a penis due to surgery and love the aesthetics of the illusion of being a woman however a biological woman is seen as a threat meanwhile you pattern her in your sexual thoughts and behaviors? Just relax.. if you don’t want a vagina don’t message the person that has one lol

There are so many men here who bash me as tho this isn’t an app for gays like it’s a boys toilet room. If I’m not your type reporting my page doesn’t make me go away. Im a female with an advanced sexual appetite and Men on Grindr tend to like that. Also I’m a SWITCH… however men find I have only one type and I don’t go outside my preference.

Profiles should have an option to list what gender you're into (men, women, non-binary etc).

Why is there only men on mine? I cannot search for women at all. And it’s annoying. It needs to be changed to who we want to search..

I think the current online dot could be colour coded based on pronouns. I often say "hey man, how's it going?" And quite often I put my foot in my mouth when I am accessing someone with gender neutral pronouns

Well maybe remove those non males?
Its a gay app and that's what it's for!
If I want 'women' I'd use tinder -

@eventide @christopher I couldn't agree more with both of you! I would rather them just completely do away with the options of woman, or cis woman.
Since the day this app was first published to the app stores it's available on, this app is, and always has been for men whether they are gay, bi, straight/curious/questioning, they are men, and only men, not women. While I also understand that transgender people have just as few options as those of us men seeking men have, I can understand and feel comfortable with allowing trans women and trans men on the app, even though I'd rather they not, be on the app either, but since I see so many profiles saying they are looking for transgender people, I could live with it.
However straight cis women, and straight Cis men who are looking for the opposite sex, have far more options, be that websites, or other apps, than those of us men looking for men do.There are so many sites catered specially for them that it would take far to long to list all them in this comment. I mean eHarmony previously wouldn't let ANY gay people join their site, it catered exclusively to straight people looking for the opposite sex. Yet you didn't see us men for men going on that site trying to get with a straight guy who is looking for a woman, thereby taking opportunities away from the women who were on that site looking for straight men now did we.
So why is it that now all of a sudden Grindr developers have decided they want to make the app "Inclusive for everyone" which is total bullshit. We don't need an Inclusive app for everyone, we need it and app which is Inclusive for gay, bi, and curious straight men who are looking for other men, and as I said before, I suppose for transgendered people as well.
We don't need women coming on our app, wasting our time, and valuable yet limited viewing space so that we can't see as many guys who might be interested in meeting. Much less taking away the few opportunities we have in meeting other men away from us.
They should remove Cis woman, and woman from Grindr app immediately! The only options that should show up as available choices are Male, Cis Male, & transgendered.
While the gender filter would act as a compromise in this situation, it isn't really needed at all, because instead cis women, and women who are straight and looking for the opposite sex don't belong on this app in the first place. Period.

Agreed. If I looking for a man (Cis, bi, trans, queer, pan and otherwise) I would prefer to have the option to filter for those who self identify this way. This is a basic of gay dating.
