Getting UNBANNED must be faster - via live chat support or a 'second chance' feature

Hi all,

I just got banned while talking to a mate on Grindr. Out of the blue. No warning, no explanation, no nothing. This is all but ridiculous!
I've been using the app for, I don't remember how long now - 6+ years maybe, as it's still not possible to check account creation date despite my feedback to Grindr on the subject months ago - and their system banned me in an instant as if I was using fake ID, advertising, selling, you name it bannable misconduct. Obviously, none of these apply. Yet no first or second warning, nothing at all - just a 'Your account has been banned for violating our Guidelines or Terms of Service' message while I was online and chatting.

This said, I'd like to call for the introduction of a live chat service for users to be able to contact Grindr Support directly and in real time. Right now I'm not even sure whether my in-app report got sent or delivered, as there was no confirmation of any kind neither on-screen, nor via e-mail.
Another suggestion would be the implementation of a 'Second Chance' option that allows offenders to avoid getting permanently banned until another violation. Often, as in my case (although, mind you, I still don't know why I got banned), mistakes do occur - be it on user or app's side - and having the ability to 'postpone' a ban until human Support has decided whether it was a genuine offence that deserved or a ban or a second chance, or it was a mistake due to automated measure in place to prevent abuse.

My only and rather wild guess would be that I got banned for sending my mate a link to show him something. However, I've sent links before and there's never been an issue. I don't remember using an URL shortener though such as bit.do (as in this case). So, if this is what got me banned - a genuine, non-harmful link - I believe it would help many guys to know what EXACTLY is forbidden to send in a private (yeah, right - "private") message and what isn't. How was I even remotely supposed to know using this specific shortener could get me banned? Like, seriously!

We now link directly to a help page and ban appeal form when you get banned. Moderators typically review and respond to ban appeals within 1-2 days.

    Just recently fell victim to this myself. They refuse to present me any proof of my violation and yet insist that the ban will remain. This is complete *********. I know I didn’t violate their TOS and they know it too. It’s a shame that their system is so shoddy that someone can get ****** at you, falsely report you and then you get banned with zero recourse

    Same thing. Banned for no reason and paid for another 3 months. I filed a complaint with the BBB, but still no explanation. Just a copy and paste response saying they can ban for any or no reasons. Basically stole my money.

    Same thing with me! What's wrong with them!? I went to Twitter slimtwink20 and actually got an email reply but just saying that "I violated their terms and I won't get the ban lifted". I didn't do anything, totally random! We need a real alternative that actually appreciates their users! Any suggestions in the USA?

    I recently got banned because I had the leaf emoji. However it was never an issue before a Chinese company bought Grindr. In the past they would just erase any unsuitable content. Other than that emoji, I’m quite a conservative user as I prefer dates over NSA. If I knew I’d get banned I would never of put that emoji there, but not missing the app at all. Time for a change in apps anyway.

Other than that emoji, I’m quite a conservative user as I prefer dates over NSA. If I knew I’d get banned I would never of put that emoji there, but not missing the app at all. Time for a change in apps anyway.

    My account has been banned and can’t create a new one using a new email address or another phone. I think they blocked the IP address I am using. Anyway not planning to use Grindr app ever again! 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼

    all my accounts that ive made got all banned on em idk what ive done but i want to know what or why i get banned for does grindr have a number or something i wanna call em and ask them some questions on why i get banned everyday when i make up a new account

    Same thing has happened to me, totally sucks. Been with Grindr forever. Tried to make other email addresses, but all are being banned?
    If you get a new phone will it work? Can't find anything online.. Thanks

    I to have just been banned for absolutely no reason was banned on one phone so made an account on an old phone and then the next day that was banned for again zero **** reason

    Do you know how many times I cannot even count, that prostitutes, drug dealer have approache me its ridiculous. It's not up to grindr to set up my moral values. It's ok to them just as lke as money flows in. I don't sell drugs or my *** but I'm banned these people are still on, I guess selling your *** and drugs is the way to go.

    This this confirms AND CONFIRMS GRINDR OFFERS NO CONFIDENTIALUTY, I WAS BANNED ALSO WITH GHW SAME RESULTS, I THCK THEM BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS PRIVATE. BULL thanks bud for writing this
