Getting UNBANNED must be faster - via live chat support or a 'second chance' feature

Hi all,

I just got banned while talking to a mate on Grindr. Out of the blue. No warning, no explanation, no nothing. This is all but ridiculous!
I've been using the app for, I don't remember how long now - 6+ years maybe, as it's still not possible to check account creation date despite my feedback to Grindr on the subject months ago - and their system banned me in an instant as if I was using fake ID, advertising, selling, you name it bannable misconduct. Obviously, none of these apply. Yet no first or second warning, nothing at all - just a 'Your account has been banned for violating our Guidelines or Terms of Service' message while I was online and chatting.

This said, I'd like to call for the introduction of a live chat service for users to be able to contact Grindr Support directly and in real time. Right now I'm not even sure whether my in-app report got sent or delivered, as there was no confirmation of any kind neither on-screen, nor via e-mail.
Another suggestion would be the implementation of a 'Second Chance' option that allows offenders to avoid getting permanently banned until another violation. Often, as in my case (although, mind you, I still don't know why I got banned), mistakes do occur - be it on user or app's side - and having the ability to 'postpone' a ban until human Support has decided whether it was a genuine offence that deserved or a ban or a second chance, or it was a mistake due to automated measure in place to prevent abuse.

My only and rather wild guess would be that I got banned for sending my mate a link to show him something. However, I've sent links before and there's never been an issue. I don't remember using an URL shortener though such as bit.do (as in this case). So, if this is what got me banned - a genuine, non-harmful link - I believe it would help many guys to know what EXACTLY is forbidden to send in a private (yeah, right - "private") message and what isn't. How was I even remotely supposed to know using this specific shortener could get me banned? Like, seriously!

    This this confirms AND CONFIRMS GRINDR OFFERS NO CONFIDENTIALUTY, I WAS BANNED ALSO WITH GHW SAME RESULTS, I THCK THEM BECAUSE I THOUGHT IT WAS PRIVATE. BULL thanks bud for writing this

    Yep also been banned recently couple of years use then out of the blue, no reason- adding to the comments.
    Perhaps the app has recently become super sensitive to banning, the more people say the better.

    I think yes , even I got banned for no reason , they have banned my IP or Phone . I really do not wish to use that app any more

    Based on the dates of these comments. Looks like everyone is getting banned for no reason. Including myself. I dont think it’s due to someone reporting anyone. I suspect it to be a grinder system issue

    Got banned a couple of days ago. The only thing I think I did was send a bunch of pics to a guy at his request. Ridiculous, you’ll lose people over this.

    I just got banned yesterday and same runaround, just no explanation and no real people to talk to. Absolutely unfair especially as a paying customer, I should be allowed to make a new account where my "behavior will be better" but they seem to have blocked that, so if you messed up one time on something you didn't know was against the rules (telling off a scammer, I'm sure he reported me)
    I have 2 months of Xtra left

    The same thing just happened to me... Have been using Grindr for years, then out of the blue I get banned. I send a request asking why, and get an automatic response saying I've engaged in spamming activity... I have done no such thing but the refuse to lift the ban. Ridiculous.

    Grindr is BS! Been using it for years, gave them I don't know how much money, and I get my account banned today with 4 months to go in Xtra. They claim it was for spam activity, which I have done nothing "spammy" and basically told me I have no rights when I want to see what was considered spamming and they won't lift the ban. Absolutely ridiculous.

    I just got banned too for no reason! I’m pretty sure I never violated any community guidelines, so I think something fishy is going on. Oh well, I’ll subscribe to scruff instead.

    I just got banned last night... Idk if its becuz Im underage but the app said 17+. My photos are clean, I don't do explicity, and I don't ask for or give out personal stuff. I just started getting close to someone and now I can't contact them forever.     Yup same problem. Just random ban! Apparently i was dealing drugs, an escort and selling weapons. The trifecta! When I asked for details- nothing!

    yup same thing.. just got banned and don't know why!! my profile was much milder than a lot of other profiles with CapiTal Letters, numbers, and explicit pics...
    sent them an email to appeal and i get a canned response.
    IS there a workaround? Im prepaid thru Sept. 2020... Need to switch to another app if anyone has ideas.

    There definitely on a banning spree I was banned for no reason or explanation. I think if enough people complain something will be done about this.

    Same thing just happened to me last night. They are useless!! I contacted Apple waiting for a response to get a refund. Funny how they ban u without a reason, proof or any evidence. Basically if someone doesn’t like u they can hit the button. Also their guidelines are a joke. 90% of the pics are dudes in under wear all sexually content , illegal things, underage profiles and nothing is done about it. They are joke. Don’t worry soon a better app a cheaper app will be out and Grindr will be out. Customer service is a total joke!!! They scam your money and it’s always crashing. The worst app ever!! If u want to sign up a new account with a new email address still won’t let u. It’s such a joke!! They have more things to worry about like people getting murdered using Grindr. U hear it more and more on the news. All I can say is boycott Grindr and get them out of business and report them to the business bureau.
