So lately I’ve been having a problem with people trying to scam and being catfishes. This verification process would lower my chances of coming across scammers and fakes. Also the preferences for choosing who you want is VEEEERRRY limited. Say for instance I only want a couple or I want somebody who is single. I can’t choose that because my preferences are limited and that leaves me bored and unsatisfied with the app.

Ain't fun and I'm suprised they haven't already got something like this in place. I welcome this idea.

Needs some sort of phone verification for every user.
Gridnr needs to up its game.
Not about meeting fake people.
It's about stopping people using fake accounts and pictures from the start.
People who say no to this, obviously the ones who create fake accounts.

So yes we should use our phone numbers as a verification as, tinder, scruff, POF and every other site asks for this.

I know this may seem strange but it would be nice if there were a category like there was for everything else, for the drugs people use. This isn’t to promote drug use but just to make the filtering process more enjoyable for everyone. As an offset if this does seem like a hard decision, it would be a good way to aim more drug awareness and addiction help lines in that direction, and through the app more prevalent yet for everyone. It’s no users fault that they use, but they’re still people who deserve respect and and will find the guidance when they need it.

Ever heard of a burner phone? Pre paid wireless is too easy to get and some people use their work phones too and or iPads. Find another way or tell the user to send you a pic doing something to verify who they are. No one wants you having their personal information. How about don’t meet them if you don’t trust them or get off your lazy butt and go meet people in real life.

FAKE PROFILES are gonna loose my membership.. Check out my ”nearby” half or more profiles with odd profile pics, ask the m to video chat or even send a current pic and they won't, because they can't.

This will not help the situation. There should not be any Profiles allowed with out a verified account and a mandatory profile photo! So many use this no profile photo to cheat on their partners. Even allowing it for 24h enables cheaters to con't cheating!!

No verification, no phone or picture verification. Only email verification. So anyone can create an account pretending to be you which has happened to me and many others and abuse the system, the report system they have in place is pointless, as there is only a email verification, the fake users and blank profiles can just create another one using a new email. A huge safety concern in which Grindr aren't even acting on or acknowledging and aren't taking this seriously. Needs Investigating!

Seems you aren't even listening to serious issues as such as this.
Even Tinder has added a picture verification when signing up and for old users, also they have a standard phone verification as well as POF and Scruff. Yet Grindr hasn't. Something doesn't add up.

As for the "report" nothing ever happens to the fake profiles, as I have numerous amount of customers evidence to support this. Also you should have a extra verification instead of a simple email verification. As the recent news regarding the safety issue regarding Grindr, as a result I will be taking this futher.

I will be passing my concerns on. I also want you to pass this on as an official complaint.

Well. After two years of this post being on Top of the list.

STILL no phone verification or picture verification. Whereas other apps such as Tinder, POF etc had this rather important safety feature implemented!

I am absolutely disgusted that Gridnr hasn't done this still as I am sick of the fake accounts and pictures that have been used of my friends without their permission. As it's simple to create another email account without tracking.

As for the report button. Pointless as they can just create another account using a different email without any extra verification for signing up or in.

Y a los mails de queja jamás responden, solo envían su mensaje automático, cualquier perfil puede denunciarte y grindr les cree. Please add a feature to vote for someones profile by selecting 'thumbs up' and 'thumbs down' symbols. And those selections should be calculated and show in each and every profile with total votes (as a percentage or value) they got. With his feature we can vote for profiles based on their behaviour. The genuine profile will get more 'up' votes while fake profiles getting 'down' votes. Eventually, because of this, fake profiles will be refused by other users. This will help to real users who find grindr as useful dating app since now adays it consists with lot of fake profiles.

This suggestion has literally opened Pandora’s box of Bot bans for no reason and no help - Smh

Esta súper mal. Yo tenía una cuenta de paga desde hace más de 5 años y así de repente me la suspenden y no hay forma de que la levanten la suspensión. Mientras otros hacen cosas ilícitas todo el tiempo a uno que tiene un perfil legítimo lo suspenden y miles de perfiles ofreciendo drogas, vendiendo sexo y así.

Add an icon on the profile pic of users who verify a captcha to help reduce bots. Not all users have to comply, but if you do, you get a "guaranteed real" icon.

Adding a time out feature (every 24h for instance) so that users have to verify the captcha and maintain their guaranteed status could help too.

Although I don't believe bots are likely to work in general, these extra hurdles may help dissuade the bad actors who use them.

Allow to put Expiring feature as a standard so all the picture that I sent will get expiring so sometimes I want to send a picture of my dog and I forgot to click that and I don’t like to have my duck out over the city

For those of you that have been stupid enough to pay for membership and got banned,.....
You can do a charge back through your credit-card company for breach of contract and failure to provide services paid for.
The credit card company will send them a notice of intention to refund and Grindr has the right to provide reasons why the membership was terminated.

Credit card companies will not stand for the Copy and Paste response and will insist on grindr proving the breach of rules. Being that grindr hasn't got the brains to actually respond to the credit card company requests, the credit card company will simply refund you the membership costs.

Block all profiles not containing a live verified photo from messaging anyone.

Or to message anyone you must send a “ live verified photo to the person you are messaging at that time and the chat must be accepted. Like Skout but it has to be a live photo
