They should do it how they do on surge. To verify your account you have to take a selfie in the position they choose directly from your camera not the camera roll.

Where I live a face pic would be a
Firing offense (yes there are places in America that are redneck).
Think of others and ask for a pic and don't be **** about pics. -

But how do you ensure Grindr is a safe space for those not out? A face pic is a lot of pressure for those coming out of the closet or experimenting.

I think this is a great idea

The fresh face initiative you launched allows drug dealers and hustlers and anyone else to reconstitute their ad with a new email address approximately once an hour which makes them unblockable … Extremely irritating for paying members to constantly be approached for money and services by the same people no less.

They must require a profile picture...

Stop alloying blank and traceless accounts to prevent spam... also the emails from Grindr are essentially spam and unsolicited marketing

This x1000. The number of fake profiles is incredible and they're usually very obvious, but you block them and three more appear. Users should need a verified email, as in they actually have to click a link in the email to confirm, and also one account per IMEI device. The rest of us shouldn't have to do deal with that BS because someone can't remember their password or needs to keep deleting the app because they don't want their wife finding out. It's mind-boggling how it's2018 and Grindr still hasn't figured any of this out.

Perhaps it would be possible to restrict use of the app to one account per IMEI. If or when the device is later sold or given away to someone else, the new device-owner would be required to submit several face pics which meet specific requirements (e.g. “outside a library”, “winking with tongue out”) before the IMEI is permitted. Or would it be easier to clear the IMEI for use by enforcing a 1:1 relationship with IMEIs at the account level, i.e. a user can not log in on a new device without jettisoning the previous IMEI link?

Profiles without a picture shouldn’t be available.
