I think you guys need to definitely do gerifoed accounts. I love grindr, but if I get one more fake sugar daddy message from a fake profile, Im gonna lose it. I think you guys should make it MANDATORY to have a verified account if you are gonna have one with grindr. Now I understand some people dont want to show their face. Which is fine. They should just have a BLANK profile. They should not have anyone elses picture up, catfishing guys on here. Its just not cool. If you decided to have a picture. Then it mist be made mandatory that you verify it. If you cant verify it then you just cant have a picture up. That way we can weed out all of these fakes. Just an Idea. All of the ****** hookup/dating apps have it. I put grindr on a higher pedistal than the rest. Hook up wise haha. So I believe you guys should def have it.

They simply don't care. There's no excuse these days to how they don't have it under control. Their ability to provide moderation is an embarrassment, and they don't require a validated email or any kind of validation. I would not be surprised if they're in partnership with whomever is placing the bots, to either get a kickback, or allowing so many bots that more people upgrade to be able to block them all. Typical greedy company that pretends to care about the community.

When it comes to verifying users there needs to be stricter checks on ages. I cant think right now on how that can be done for the moment but surely there must some ideas in place. The amount of times this week I have had to report underage profiles to grindr, yet still waiting for the report to be checked everytime I see their page and want to re report it still says the last report is still pending as a result.

50% of the profiles in my town are fake. You can be smart and ask them a lot of questions, to weed out the fakes before you talk about anything serious, but that is time consuming and takes the fun out of this site.

There was a dating site called RealJock. During registration, they put a 6-digit alphanumeric code on the screen. The code was unique for each user. If you wanted the "verified" badge on your profile, you needed to take a photo holding the alphanumeric code on paper. A moderator would look to see if your face photo with the code matched your face photo you previously uploaded.

Yes - use credit card verification or ID verification before the person's profile can be approved.

We need this. It seems like Grindr is not even trying to address this problem. Since you already have moderators who approve photos, maybe use them to do this.

It's been a while I use Grindr , I know among all profiles there are several escort boys. I never mind until yesterday.
I'm in Bogota right now, I met a guy last night here, he came to my hotel , we did what we had to do and at the end he asked me for money. I always heard lots of similar histories but this was my turn. The hotel security helped me, but this escort was very wise , he blocked me on Grindr when the police arrived, so all the conversation we had , I could not show to the cops. To prove I didn't hire a escort boy.
To finish , I had to pay some money cause I could not prove I didn't hire a escort, cause I could not access the conversation on Grindr.

I ask you to consider, even when I person block you, we have access to the conversation. It could had helped me a lot.

I’ve recently deleted Grindr due to all the bots and fakes. Something so simple that Kik has is that it tells you wether the picture you’ve been sent was taken live with the camera or not. Sure you might have favourite saved pictures you like to share but at least they can be compared to the live pictures. I’ll use Grindr again when this mess is cleaned up

You should adopt photo guidelines that require that a person be in the photo or it will not be approved. No more memes, cartoons, landscape, etc. Add a search functionality for "face visible" or "face not visible" to further filter photos. Otherwise, the search functionality for requiring a photo is useless.

Please introduce varify method ASAP cos it's fkn annoying to deal with fakes on a daily base.

How about using machine learning to identify bots? Because I can spot them instantaneously: Their pics are distorted and pixelated, they have the same profile text, and use the same chat script over and over. If I can recognize it so easily, and if users consistently flag spam bots, it should straight-forward to train software to spot and flag spam accounts.

I think grinder would at least have the decency to be concerned about the non users health and safety. Have you ever hooked up with one of these guys you would know. I say delete all ice cream profiles now and also the profiles with the over use of the letter T also remove emojis that contain or refere to marajuana. The word generous should flag a profile. PNP is another red flag. Their ridiculous, I had a pic of me in a towel in my profile all summer and I swapped it out few months ago. Just went to change it back and keeps getting rejected. I cropped it to just a chest, it still got rejected and there are far more revealing pics on there. No consistency in their standards or their workers are just immature.
