You should adopt photo guidelines that require that a person be in the photo or it will not be approved. No more memes, cartoons, landscape, etc. Add a search functionality for "face visible" or "face not visible" to further filter photos. Otherwise, the search functionality for requiring a photo is useless.

How about using machine learning to identify bots? Because I can spot them instantaneously: Their pics are distorted and pixelated, they have the same profile text, and use the same chat script over and over. If I can recognize it so easily, and if users consistently flag spam bots, it should straight-forward to train software to spot and flag spam accounts.

You could start by getting rid of the ice cream cone emogie it stands for meth and is free advertising on grinders behalf for the illegal use and distribution of drugs. I think grinder would at least have the decency to be concerned about the non users health and safety. Have you ever hooked up with one of these guys you would know. I say delete all ice cream profiles now and also the profiles with the over use of the letter T also remove emojis that contain or refere to marajuana. You as grinder have the civic responsibility to clean yourself up or go down the tubes with backpage and Craig’s list. The underage boys on here and the prostitution is sickening. The word generous should flag a profile. PNP is another red flag. Get your act together Grinder I’m here to meet guys not addicts or ******* underage boys and certainly not women who have also infiltrated this app.

Someone should be able to delete photos after sending it to someone that doesn't deserve it at all

Their ridiculous, I had a pic of me in a towel in my profile all summer and I swapped it out few months ago. Just went to change it back and keeps getting rejected. I cropped it to just a chest, it still got rejected and there are far more revealing pics on there. No consistency in their standards or their workers are just immature. I stopped going on there, can’t wait for someone better to come along. They’ll be like gay.com soon, lol

Make it so us with faces can be invisible to those creepers with blank profiles. Aside from it being aggravating when they play stupid when you ask for a clear face, I’ve had guys say they weren’t interested: they just wanted to rob me. (I have screenshots.)
You have all these problematic ‘just a preference’ pro feature filters but a useful one isn’t available for free.FYI, being ashamed of your sexuality aka ‘discrete’/‘downlow’ is not the issue here, take it elsewhere.

Not a good idea. If they sell their phone to someone. And that person happens to be gay, they would be blocked without even knowing why.

We really need something in place guys that hold a piece of paper face clearly shown only visable to Grindr staff only to verify its a real person or requiring that we use a credit card that would take a £1 verification to prove age and identity there is too many underages and catfish in the site it's dangerous

I agree. The app is what, 10 years old? How they don't have a system in place to prevent this is completely mind boggling. They simply don't care about users, just money.

Grindr does not give a **** about the fake profiles and the ability to keep on making new ones with non existing emailadresses because probably they get more subscribers to grindr xtra. (People who are so annoyed that they want to unlimited block).
It gets worse and worse. Whenever i make a new profile I already know a few profiles i am blocking already before they even have a chance to talk to me. (Or send me their fake pictures they found on some tumblr 😑).
I once talked to 3 different guys and from all 3 of them they senr me the exact same (fake) dickpicture.

This app has become an app for artwork more than an app to date/hookup.
More and more profiles have become pictures of sunsets, cars or even just basic artwork. Apps like Scruff and DaddyHunt require a face pic and that what Grindr should do. I’m so tired of seeing profiles without a face pic. I get so disgusted I use the other apps I have more often because I can see a face picture of who I’m looking at.
Get smart Grindr make it a requirement to have a face pic.

Sometimes you get hated on and/or threatened, then the bully performing the hateful act blocks you before you are able to report them. When someone blocks you, it should only block the ability to communicate for an hour before removing from sight and deleting the conversation. Give the victim the time needed to report the incident. Then after an hour remove the profile and conversation.

Grindr needs to have a X strikes and you’re out policy and then block the individual based on the IMEI of the phone NOT their email address. Emails are free and if you’re like me have a mail server so I have an unlimited number of email addresses at my disposal. If Grindr blocked the device after a user was banned the only way to access Grindr again is with a different device and email or contact Grindr and plead their case to lift the ban. If the ban is lifted they would be on probation. The ban would need to be removable due to phones being recycled and reused. So, if i got a refurb phone from insurance and The device was banned, I could contact customer service give them my account and IMEI of the phone. They could review my account and then lift the ban and put the device on 30 probation. If no infractions then lift it permanently. This would slow down the spam and the hate that some guys spread.

That's because Grindr simply doesn't care. A subpar "captcha" system, and the fact you don't need a valid e-mail speaks quite a bit, don't you think?

Blocks should be based on device ID like IMEI or phone number, and not just the individual account.
Right now guys just delete their blocked account and make a new one to continue harassing you.
