Just came across 2 guys this week that were 16. Thankfully, I pressed the issue about age and they both admitted to being 16 and nothing happened. Some guys aren't so lucky. I require proof of age, even if Grindr is too gutless to do it. What will you do if someone sues you because of something like this? What's it going to take for you to change this so guys looking for fun don't have to go to jail because of some kid's lies and your lack of good sense?!

Grindr has never cared about anyone’s safety, bottom lines is priority and even if it was planned, they would remove it the following week. Same with XTRA members are suppose to be getting unlimited profiles but it’s still capped.

It’s very disappointing as a Xtra member or as a member in general, you end up having to block at least 10-15 fake accounts/bots on a daily.

Some bits are easy to recognize - the picture has an odd distorted stretched look.
Others have exact same profile...

Grindr fails at the most basic verification level.
A random non-existent email can be used.
Other sites, such as forums, will send you an email or phone text and ask you to verify it's a valid email or phone. -

Grindr really needs to work on photo quality correction! A lot of pictures' quality are reduced or they're blurred, don't know why! This makes it difficult to differentiate between fake and real profiles and also makes us have to ask the user to send more pictures even though there is no mistake of that user for Grindr's low image quality!

Get rid of the umpteen bots ( they must be bots) who constantly message people ‘I am looking for my soulmate, I am currently deployed in Afghanistan on active service but my home is kansas’ Or similar garbage
These are extremely annoying and irritating messages. Especially with the massively increased advertising. -

BUMBLE HAS HAD THIS FEATURE FOR AGES. Bumble reqests the user to take a photo with a randomly selected gesture, then their servers/algorithm compares the selfie with gesture and the photos on the account to verify it's them. PURE AND SIMPLE, no mobile numbers needed.

Catfishing and fakes are getting out of hand. Bumble has had this feature for quite some time now, why the **** is this feature not even planned yet for grindr? This needs to be work on ASAP

There is an increased activity of drug dealers using Grindr as a platform to sell drugs. Once they've been blocked it's easy enough just to invent a new email and then they are back in business. The way to further combat this would be to have a linked phone number which they would have to verify by the same email plus to make Grindr a pay only site. This would also apply to the escorts touting for business also with the same rules. Once they've been found out to be in breech of Grindr protocol they are blocked. The beauty of phone number verification to the same email is you can block the phone accessing Grindr. Yes they would have another phone but it would make it harder and a nuisance to keep getting verified. By doing this the escort and drug dealers would be cut significantly here on Grindr and make it an enjoyable and safer app it once was before these Individuals spoilt it.

I was banned myself the other day - RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of giving someone my address to meet up (so that was ruined). I replied to them and their support write back within minutes saying my profile violated their standards and was reported. There was nothing even in it (just pic of my face and chest, and my text was very neutral, no racist nor hateful preferences, nothing at all offensive).
I emailed them and they told me "we regret to inform you that the ban will never be lifted". I replied again with a screen shot of my profile (a friend sent that to me) asking them to POINT OUT … That was weeks ago and it was never answered. I repeated the SAME email, asking what happened and never herd back. Like most mean people on the app itself - Looks like the support team also singled me out and blocked me.
Yet I see profiles with stuff like "If your over 30 F-- You", or "No Asians", etc … Even with vulgar, racist, and hateful comments RIGHT in their main LINE and profile!!!! Yet I saw those on the app for many months, never banned. So what gives?
This is like a cop just arresting you and never finding out WHY you were arrested. Plus many profiles can also be stolen (especially by people who collect your pictures and block you after you send 'em).

Pic collectors are an issue on this app, and the ability to report them shouldn't be removed when they immediately block you. There should be a 30 second window for you to report someone who blocked you to avoid the illegal non-consensual spread of nudes etc.

bro tell the police or better yet mind your own ******* business you whiny **** its not grindrs fault or responsibility to stop drugs that is like saying roads are bad and should do something because people drive on them and traffic drugs so roads need to stop sanctioning drug use they arent part of the equation like that stupid solving drug problems is achieved by not banning drugs and making them into problems

you know grindr is probably responsible for the bots...the login feature was designed to fix the bot problem, and it did on other apps yet here the problem got worse...its an internal matter

There was a website called Connexion a decade ago that did this. They’d give you a number you’d have to write on a piece of paper, then take a selfie holding the paper, so people can see the pic matches the assigned number. It worked incredibly well, and the server admins didn’t have to do any kind of verification. Any user can see the user’s number and pic themselves to see that it’s a match.
