How can a community that has been discriminated and spit out from the whole world treat its community as such.
After reading all these comments. This is why I'm leaving this community. The fact that we're having this conversation shows that theres actually a serious problem with this app, community and culture. Just because your out of the closet and have a iPhone whatever that can screen shot (good for you) that doesn't mean you have to or should just as much as if I found out who made fake profiles of my self stating harmful (true facts that maybe I didn't want the whole world to know). Personally Grindr you should at least have the notification to see who stole your pictures without your consent so you can go whoop the right persons ass even though I shouldn't lol. That's all I'm saying. Grindr maybe you should listen to some of your DL users that help you earn millions with all of the adds we watch just like the trolls that screen shot, because if not that's discremantion. Don't just give the trolls all the tools they need to exist and to blackmail ppl, give us decent people who respect privacy, intimacy and normailty; the functions that would guarentee our comfort and natural born right of safety. How can a community that has been discriminated and spit out from the whole world treat its community as such.
This is why I for one am done with this experience. I seen an advertisement for a company named iBone which was for straight people in a magazine years ago; It was pretty much the 1st tender. The app was unavailable so I then downloaded Grindr (not knowing it was for men.) Some ought years later, now I'm dealing with extreme insecurity & fear of not knowing who seen some of the fake profiles that damaged my confidence and Carrer path.
Thanks Grindr ,and all the other apps that give these low life twinks and old farts the application to take your pictures and blog them destroying your security within yourself and reputation .
Solution = create a separate portal on the app for DL mature types.
How can a community that has been discriminated and spit out from the whole world treat its community as such .

I would say alert if they take a pic of private photos.... but if it’s public then.... they can do whatever they want with them. I also recommend disabling taking screenshots some how. Some people on this app are dl and one way to being more costumers to this app is to build trust!

Please allow screen shots because it is one way of protecting lgbt who are being bashed , threatened, scammed and abused, scrèen shots are ways of making evidence before the profile , pictures and messages couls be deleted. When complaint is being done at the local authorities they were asking for any evidences such as screen shots, so please give extra considerations about scrren shots, profilea without face are more questionable , we cannot identify them if they are the ones who victimiezed the lgbt in mugging , hold ups , black mails and more.

This probably wont work- because of the fact that if the app is run in the bluestacks sand box and a screen recorder is run outside the sandbox, there's no way the app can detect screenshot.

There was a feature before which is blocking the screenshots !! Now its not available
I dont know if this feature works in all world or on certain area
When i was living in Saudi Arabia the app doesn’t allow you to take a screenshot and doesnt allow you to show your distance and also the explorer doesnt work
We need this “screenshot block” feature, its is great feature to protect privacy !! Now people can steal pics -

If you don't want the world to see your pics. Don't put them online at all (that means sharing them online or this app)
I hated the thought of this when I was younger and now I share all my pics and don't care if someone's taking a screenshot of them or whatever. Massive progress as a child of the 90's. I don't care where my pics go as long as they find me, the real me and not a fake profile.
I am who I am, look like what I look like and I am not ashamed one bit.
Although I do agree if they are used for more than the other persons personal pleasure like they were intended. For example fake profiles, sharing online without your permission, etc! there should be an easier process to deal with this. But relays back to my start don't share a pic you don't want others to see. Nothing shared online unfortunately is confidential and hasn't been since the start of the Internet :-( xx

I don’t understand why this hasn’t got more votes. Best idea, and will limit catfishing and theft of pics

This is more of an issue that should be taken up via DMCA and copyright law. Derivitives of a picture still retain the copyright of the original, ordinarily. You can also sue the responsible parties in federal court for copyright infringement.

Stop others from reusing any pix you send. The new timed pic setting is great but not enough. Having had a very shattering experience on Grindr, where a group of guys in my area decided to Harlem Bully me, you need to upgrade your picture security. You need to prevent users from misusing any pix sent. My pictures have been used to create a fake account altered and made me out to be a very bad and disgraceful person. I’ve been threatened and hurt due to your lack of security and the clientele you attract. No upgrade to your security may result in legal action or worse, like self-harm or suicide. You are accountable for shady, abusive actions by users on your site.

So some will just have a second device with which they take an actual photo of what is in the screen. Pointless
