4. *For You and Explore features

   Having the *For You and Explore features right in the feed of profiles in my area is a real pain and I wish you would remove them, or give users the choice to opt out of having these features in the feed. Grindr works best when you let users do their own searching. If I want to use the Explore feature, I know how to do it. I go up to the search bar that says Explore. I don’t need distant profiles from cities around the world in the feed where I’m scrolling through guys in my area. 🤷🏽‍♂️ And, I don’t need the *For You feature in my feed. I know how to find what I want.

   Having the *For You and Explore features right in the feed of profiles in my area is a real pain and I wish you would remove them, or give users the choice to opt out of having these features in the feed. Grindr works best when you let users do their own searching. If I want to use the Explore feature, I know how to do it. I go up to the search bar that says Explore.    WHO IN THE RIGHT MIND WOULD REMOVE THAT FEATURE??! Grindr is based on Chatting. How do you expect us to find our old/important messages.

   I use the search bar to look for keywords like 'Whatsapp' so I could find the guys who gave me their Whatsapp numbers lol. Ugh. I AM SO PISSED.

7. Givd us back 3 free profiles to unlock

   Why are free users punished? We get to see 100 free profiles, but with the number of scammers, women on the app, only fans pr0stitutes trying to sell themselves and trans people, we GAY MEN (ya know, the ones the app was created for) only get about 4 or 5 men's profiles we get to see for free.
   Unlocking 3 profiles in explore wasnt great but it at least gave us options and now the greed of the apps owners means we can only unlock one. Why?
   You have millions if ads, paid subscribers, extra and all that crap. So greedy.
   Give us back 3 free unlocks a day or even 5 a day. Why cant we enjoy the app too?

8. Too many trans profiles clogging my grid

   I want to be welcoming and supportive of my larger LGBTQIA community, but can I go to Grindr without seeing what I'm not looking for--and not having to spend an hour hiding folks that aren't looking for what I'm looking for?

   I'm happy to share the platform, but can people please tag themselves as a member of a particular community so that I can sort and bypass?

   I've kinda lost all energy to use Grindr for this reason. It's broken. I'm not on Bumble. Or Ashley's List for a reason. Why do people make it so hard.

   Again, I totally support the community at large and i'm not attacking anyone. But if people don't identify and tag, half of my grid is simply stuff I'm completely not interested in.

   And have to work at it?
   More than I should have to?

   More than any reasonable person would want to?

   Grindr and others need to do better.

11. Hiding decreases grid size.

    The Hiding option has decreased my grid size. Permanently? I can only see 12 people now because I've blocked all the blank profiles and profiles of users I'm not interested in. The only people left on my grid are bots or people who are far away and the app forces them on to my grid and I can't hide them. When I refresh the grid amount doesn't return to what it should be.

    This is awful. I should be able to see a finite amount of people, bring back blocking or for hiding so that it doesn't decrease the grid amount. This is ridiculous.

17. Remove the tap option on temporary album or picture shared

    When a picture or pictures album is shared for limited time, the recipient should not be able to tap it otherwise the picture(s) appear(s) then in the conversation with the tap notification. It is not the purpose of a temporary sharing. Or it should be helpful to remove for both the notification. For the moment, the tap notification can be removed for the album owner.
    The only solution that I have is to block the guy…that was not the purpose of this application.

18. Discreetness: Custom Chat Colors & Custom Sounds

    You allow for a discreet icon but if sounds are on, its extremely non-discreet. The grinder sounds are recognizable by even straights now. They've appeared in movies even. Please allow a user to set custom sounds and choose basic system sounds so they can blend in.

    Also, custom chat message colors would help as well. I use an iphone and mimicing those colors would allow for eaiser app usage in public.

20. Revert Favorites back to a tab and not as a filter

    The new Favorites filter is complete nonsense. The tab it used to be was much better and far more useful. Having to adjust search filters to look at your favorites is completely ridiculous and whoever thought of that must not have had anything else to do.
