"Guardian Mode" to protect users in vulnerable markets.
In regions where LGBTQIA+ individuals face severe social stigma and limited legal support, bad actors frequently misuse Grindr for sextortion, forced outing, and setup robberies. I am requesting the implementation of a targeted safety suite called "Guardian Mode" to protect users in vulnerable markets.
Key Proposed Capabilities:
1. Dynamic Recipient Watermarking: Overlay recipient-specific account IDs onto shared media and enforce strict native screenshot blocking to prevent blackmail.
2. One-Tap "Purge & Preserve": An automated threat detection trigger that packages encrypted chat logs (for evidence) and instantly wipes the chat while unmatching, cutting off an extortionist's leverage.
3. Safe Meet Check-In: A PIN-protected live timer for in-person meets that alerts trusted personal contacts or local LGBTQIA+ crisis helplines if a check-in is missed.
4. Anonymous Trust Badges: A zero-knowledge peer-vouching system to help users identify legitimate community members versus newly created scam profiles.
This framework would significantly cut down on abuse, protect user anonymity, and set a standard for digital safety in the Global South.
