If you're planning a trip to Japan (and you probably are, since you're reading this), then please, seriously, get this Japanese portable Wi-Fi from Mobal . I went without one, thinking there was "Wi-Fi everywhere." Yeah, right. I only found one, and it barely worked. The maps were slow, the translator was frozen... Anyway, I was freaking out for about 20 minutes. Then I grabbed this little router, which is like a gumball box, and that's it, I got internet. I even got it on the subway. I used it to upload photos and everything else. Seriously, it's better to get it right away.
