The idea is to let everyone set basic criteria, such as age range, position preference, intent, distance, or verified profiles; so that only people who meet those filters can initiate a chat.

This would reduce harassment, make interactions more relevant, and improve overall safety on the platform. Many similar apps already include this kind of functionality, and it greatly enhances user comfort and satisfaction.

These filters wouldn’t restrict anyone’s ability to browse or explore profiles, they’d simply give each person more control over who can contact them. It’s a feature that would benefit the entire Grindr community by promoting respectful and mutually desired connections.
