change "middle eastern" to "west asian"
"middle east" is a globally inaccurate and euro centric term to describe west Asia. please be apart of the change on how we view people of west Asian decent. we are from the continent of Asia not some "middle"

Totally agree. “Middle Eastern” is outdated and Euro-centric, and switching it to “West Asian” would actually reflect the geography and identities of the people Grindr is labeling. It also makes the app more respectful and accurate for everyone from the region, including Near Eastern communities who get lumped into vague categories that don’t represent them.
Grindr already separates “South Asian" from "Asian." Also, updating the overall “Asian” label to “East Asian” would keep everything more consistent and clear. These fixes are small but would make the app more accurate, inclusive, and reflective of how people actually identify.
We reached out to Grindr about this and they told us to post on this forum, so maybe if more people upvote your post, we can finally get this corrected! :)
