Black and Latino Photos take Longer to Process than white ones. Why ?
Black and Latino Photos take Longer to Process than white ones. Why ? Ive tried it with my friends ( white) and Arab friends . Ours takes hours to process . Clear photos in broad daylight . However the White profiles it’s almost an automatic post .
I’ve even tried it with a photo of us one Latino brown skin and my bestie ( He’s white ) . So long as there is a white person in the photo . The profile picture almost automatically gets approved while black and Latinos it still says it’s “Processing “ Why ?

I've done a fair amount of photo work on the side, mostly portraits for friends and small local gigs, and I've seen firsthand how automated tools can quietly fail on darker skin tones, whether it's exposure, contrast, or just refusing to recognize a face as a face. That's part of why I keep testing new editing features, and recently I started using https://skylum.com/luminar/generase to clean up backgrounds without wrecking skin texture, since it fills removed areas based on the surrounding image instead of slapping a generic patch on top. It's not a solution to a moderation problem, obviously, but it does highlight how much depends on whether the training data behind a tool ever actually included people who look like everyone.
