Background:
The majority of crimes, such as harassment and promoting paid services such as escorts and drugs, are the norm among Grindr's user base in Asia and around the globe.
Use Case(s):
1) As a registered user in Grindr, share fake images that are owned by someone and invite them for encounters. request to meet at the host's private location,
*The recipient has been beaten to death. Or credible physical injury.
Demand financial bribery by robbing cash or the equivalent.
Threat and public humiliation
One of above outcomes or a combination
2) No encounter, but being exposed or threat virtually on exchange of genuine images of the recipient.
Blackmail by taking an image as proof to humiliate publicly in exchange for financial or non-financial benefits
Reporting to authorities that the LGBTQ community has no legal protection or disregards privacy rights, so public prosecutions could be imposed.
Published in social media to humiliate and publicly tarnishe an image.
Expected Solution:
A) Track the registered Grindr user account with the association of iMEI (International Mobile Equipment Identity).
B) If the device is rooted, the grinder app should not allow the user to register or login using the rooted device.
C) If registered Grindr user has been reported with credible evidence to 'grinder app report' function by other users,
*Grinder should give a warning based on the degree of escalation and the opportunity to provide support (if applicable).
*Banning the user account, including device-by-device id (mandate), email id, social media login id permanently or for five consecutive years.
D) For registered Grindr users, mandate to provide identity reference proof such as national id copy or passport biometric copy along with face recognition.
E) Validation on authenticity of user by promoting the user random or on demand by face recognition; failure to comply indicate the other Grindr users who view the profile of un unauthenticated user as "not verified"
