Someones profile should not completely dissapear from your messages in case you need to report them for behavior that constitutes a violation of grindr terms and policies and state or federal laws. Instead if someone blocks you their profile would appear completely blank except for their name and in messages only photos and map addresses should be deleted because they're the only sensitive information that was received with a direct app feature. I had someone threaten my life and spew nasty racist remarks at me and I have no way of reporting them because they blocked me as soon as they sent the messages.
