People flake/ghost/no-show too easily- here’s a potential solution.
Everyone’s gone through it: some guy messages you and you’re really interested, and they seem super interested as well. Then they don’t show up, or stop responding, or block you after wasting your time. The sheer irritation of being tricked is special.
Grindr should grant a once-a-day “High interest” signal for every Grindr user. Anytime during the messaging process, users can press this button, and it will be a costly signal of interest (costly because you only get one a day). For example: you’re chatting it up with someone, and you both want to get with each other. You can then send your high interest signal of the day to the other, in hopes that the other also sends their high interest signal (if they haven’t used it yet). Even if the other has already used their high interest signal for the day, at least the other person knows you aren’t flaking, because you used your only one for the day.

In fact, sending your once a day high interest signal might make the other person feel guilty if they attempt to ghost you. It might have good effects even if the other person has already used theirs.
