Swipe to go back
Seems in the latest update (iOS 8.14.0) you’ve removed the ability to swipe right to go back, it just goes to the next profile. I don’t swipe thru all profiles. I tap on one I like, read the profile and message them or not and then I swipe right to go back to the profile thumbnails, that’s what should happen. Now you have to tap on the X at the top left of a profile to close it and go back to everyone’s profile. That is not intuitive and makes it harder to use. Also, changing the ‘Fresh’ tab to only show 9 tappable people…not cool.

I made an account just to vote on this. So annoying.

Your new change to close the profile using the X option on the top left corner is actually making me use 2 hands to use the app. Please enable back option to go back go the grid from a profile.

Absolutely agree with the other users. Keep the x if you want, but the edge swipe simply MUST COME BACK.
Horrible idea to eliminate that. HORRIBLE

This has become super annoying. You can’t really even use it one-handed anymore. That’s not good for a mobile app.

Yes, absolutely. Sorry, but don't want to give the impression I checked out a profile I had zero intention to do so. 🤷♂️

This!! ^^^
Literally the interface on every native app and 99.9% of all other apps is swiping to back out!! I have absolutely zero desire to swipe through profiles, EVER!! Fix this interface now!! This is near the top of the list of shitty Grindr engineering!! -

Swiping from the left of the screen to center of screen, is synonymous with clicking the ‘back’ arrow across most of the app, and OS.
HOWEVER, while in a chat, this swipe feature almost always INSISTS that you are sending a reply to a message instead of leaving the current thread. I just want to exit the chat… *cries* …without having to click that [<] button.
Please fix that and maybe the long press / double tap should be the only way to use the reply option
