Stricter verification
I would like for Grindr to implement stricter verification for new and existing users in an effort to combat underage individuals posing as adults, bots, etc. I've heard a number of stories of men who have chatted with individuals who they thought were of legal age, only to find out upon meeting them that they're some horny teen. I'm proposing the implementation of verification measures such as ID (Government issued, driver's license, passport, etc), bank account, submitting a facial selfie with a piece of paper visible displaying a verification code, email verification, as well as changing the age requirements to make it so users must be 21 or older to join Grindr. If this is implemented, I'm hoping this sparks a new trend across the internet where sites implement strict verification measurements in an effort to keep minors off the internet.
I'd also like for all new and existing profiles be required to have face pictures of the user with a verification code displayed, with failure to do so resulting in immediate account termination. It should also be a requirement for both new and existing members to fill out their profiles as well

Verify age to make sure no one is under age on this app.

Nothing is worse than being catphished on the app. I have used other dating platforms where I would have to verify the photo I’m using is actually me. It’s just nice to know I’m not putting in all that work just for someone to be fake.

Also live verification of face like what tinder does with blue check mark by the profile.

The app should make a verification to make sure that person using is real, not using fake photos. Like facial recognition, or body type, for that ones who doesn’t want to put face photos.

Verify everyone with one only should be able to make one account per IP address. Too many people making more than one p profile and end up being catfish or fake.

Implement a FREE app called Yoti which will ELIMINATE, CATFISH, MINORS spammers and bots by 100%. 100% that’s good odds. Each individual is in control what information like their age, Birthdate, Name is voluntarily shared. Not mandatory but let’s say you are meeting up you each can scan a QR code on each other’s phone which will verify that is the person You were chatting with. This is done without sharing any personal information, (unless you want to share) and Yoti uses better encryption methods than your own bank does. It’s a no brainer.

When we block people, it's probably because we are not interested, they have been naughty, or sometimes while reporting them, sometimes fake profiles.
My idea is, since now on Grindr there is the phone number verification, I'd like to say if we block someone, Grindr should also not allow us to see accounts they might create again. Grindr should block automatically the account they would like to create so we csbt see them nomore

Tell users specifically why you ban their accounts and block them from creating a new account using their phone.

Much like how tinder verifies the users by submitting a photo to be approved by Grindr employees to verify that the person that is on the account profile is the person behind the account itself. No one likes a catfish and it would greatly improve the safety of being on this app.

I believe that a valid I'd and credit or debit be required to sign up. People can continue to make fake accounts because they can make unlimited email accounts. With a valid is and card on file they can not. Which would resolve the problem or at least cut the problem in half. It is making everything about the hooking up ugly and unattractive and makes people want to quit looking

Similar to the feature that tinder has implemented let the user choose whether they go for a voluntary identity verification letting them take two selfies in unusual poses which are checked against the available pictures on the profile (face recognition can run without harming data protection rights) as soon as the recognition returns a positive value flag those profiles as confirmed. This will help reducing the amount of fake profiles and profiles cat fishing for other users pictures. It will contribute to grindr becoming a place where less time is waisted.

Have you ever considered that it is normal to verify a person with some kind of document and to limit the misuse of accounts and new accounts constantly? Vote to stop all crazy people who are constantly creating new accounts and harassing other users by insulting and manipulating, let's stop anonymity and madness in some way by banning IP address, email, phone number or personal data from documents! Thanks

Can we add a feature to verify our identity or at least have a check mark to say you verified your identity? I’m tired of the cat fishing and multiple people have stole my pictures and posed as me too. Can we do something about this?

It would go some way to meeting the demands that users be verified as any disingenuous profiles aren't likely to last long. It's a simple implement which could be based on email address. I'm sure Grindr has this info already so it's just a matter of showing it on the profile.

Filter out new profiles with "ratemyshaft.com" and delete them. They're all fake profiles.
