Please restore ethnicity filter
I am Asian, and I would like to have the ethnicity filter option back. As a "minority", I don't think the filter option is racist. It offers me choices. Sometimes I want to search for Asians for example,, and if there is this option, it will make my search much easier to find.

Less transphobic users... or more response to reports....

Honestly, I've never seen so much negativity from so many. Instead of using the "about" section to post useful informative stuff about themselves and what they want Grindr is plagued with loads of negative moaning out their petty prejudices, dislikes and what and who they don't want or like. Gay life should be uplifting and positive. A large section of the profiles on here make us look like a bunch of moaning miserable old women.
Hypocrites too: Half the "No Pic No Chat" dictats come from those showing obscured faces.

As a fellow minority I feel like this is going a little far. The report button works pretty well and you can just block the profile if you’re offended. If a guy is into/not into my skin tone, body type etc, I personally would actually want to know upfront so that I could know which profiles to message/avoid.
EVERYONE gets rejected for some reason. And in my experience, the guys who have racial preferences often make exceptions once they see hot guys of that particular race and often change their mind over time. If they are auto locked, they’ll never get to see all the variations of looks within a race. Unless someone is writing hateful/negative things about a group I think people shouldn’t be restricted from trying to find the guys they’re really into. Rejection is part of life. You’re strong enough to handle it my friend.

I feel like you’re looking too hard to deny the reality there are racist people on grindr. Many are extremely racist, and it doesn’t mean they don’t deserve to find their own kind. I simply would rather have the ability to filter them from my search. I do agree their behavior is purely ignorant, but, I’d rather know with whom I’m dealing than to waste energy contacting an ahole. Stop seeking their acceptance and realize the truth...

Grindr supports a diverse community of users, which is as it should be. My friends and significant others of color uniformly express that they are regularly targeted on Grindr (and other apps) on the basis of their race. Two suggestions re: this phenomenon and my (hopefully Grindr's) desire to maintain a safe, welcoming community around LGBTQ sexuality: First, I think it is important that Grindr have a more robust reporting mechanism for hate speech. The burden to "block" racist users should not fall on those targeted; furthermore, Grindr should make it a part of its mission to support these members of our community in proactive ways. So, users should be able to report profiles for racist behavior and have those profiles removed promptly, with a message to the user detailing the reason for the removal. Second, profiles with "no ____" should not, I think, be tolerated when they are exclusionary on the basis of race or, for that matter, body type. There is a filtering option for Xtra users who feel the need to exclude certain communities from their experience.

You need to add Pacific Islander to the ethnicity category.
