Please restore ethnicity filter
I am Asian, and I would like to have the ethnicity filter option back. As a "minority", I don't think the filter option is racist. It offers me choices. Sometimes I want to search for Asians for example,, and if there is this option, it will make my search much easier to find.

Although I totally appreciate and respect the gesture of deleting the ethnicity filter, especially during this heightened time of awareness about racism and bigotry, this is a short-sighted fix. The Grindr app is full of exclusionary filters (i.e. body type, sero status, "tribes"). An app that is designed to shrink the field of profiles so that users can isolate what they're looking for is the essence of the app. Trying to pacify a desire related to race because it's the major issue of the day is patronizing and counterproductive on this platform. Whether it's a gender identity preference, relationship status preference, proximity preference, orientation preference, or racial/ethnic preference, users want to maximize their viewable profiles and engage with others users that most likely fit their desires. Attractions that may be connected to race, ethnicity, origin, language, etc are not inherently problematic, and removing the option forces users to subscribe to a notion that Grindr has determined for us. If ethinicity and race aren't acceptable categories, then neither is any other filter. Force us to see only the 100 guys in our immediate area with no regard to preference, and see how long you'll keep your clients. I've been a Grindr XTRA member for many years, and I'm paying for the choices the subscription affords me. Without full control of my choices, the subscription is of no value. This needs to be resolved; I will not continue my subscription otherwise.

Re-add the ethnic filter as it once was and as we all paid for and agreed upon.. if some people don’t like that filter then let them not use it, it’s as simple as that

You just made things worst than better by eliminating the ethnic filter preferences, nobody can change their own preferences because someone else feels that way, This is not a racist act just like weight, height or positions preferences are not racist, come on, what is this??

If you like the Grape in fruits, it does not mean you hate bananas or watermelons , and you would prefer to go to a Grape store to buy them instead of going to an all fruits store , because you will still look for the Grape even if you are surrounded by the most beautiful fruits, and it is not acceptable for the fruits store to force you to love anything else but your Grape that you love, and that does not mean that the rest of these fruits are ugly or bad, it is only “ you love the GRAPES “, and if the customer found himself suffering to find his Grape , he will never pick apple instead, NOO , he will go to another Fruits store makes it easier for him to find his GRAPES
Guys return back our ethnic Filter , no body can use it for racism, it simply your type, we just choose our type and that is it, you will never change our types, you can just block the racism accounts for the APP

I’m paying money this for searching ethnicity.
This is not racial problem at all.
This is “preference”
I’d like to find what I want to look.Could you understand the difference?

I can't believe they have removed this filter, it's ridiculous if they thought it was a racism issue. I'm a White guy into Black and Asian guys, that hardly makes me racist

Same here. I’ll cancel my unlimited subscription. If you’re gonna dictate what filters I can use when I pay for my service, I’ll just stop using it. You might as well take all features away to avoid offending anyone. BRING IT BACK OR THR BLOCKED PROFILE COUNT GOES UP!!!!!

Please bring back the ethnicity filter. I am a latino bottom and am only attracted to white and black top men. Forcing me to see every single profile is taxing. Make the filter free so minorities and find others in their community and so non-minorities can find the minorities that turn them on. Love for everybody!!!

This is a huge deal. Not every man is attracted to the same ethnicity and it makes doing a search impossible. I am a latino attracted to black. Everyone has their preferences. Please bring it back. Thank you.

despite being an xtra member my searches are now clogged up with guys in not interested in. It is not racist to limit a search to ethnicities i prefer. It is purely taste. The same as i don't search for women or guys of certain ages.

Why was the ability to choose Ethnicity taken away?

Black & White are very divisive terms that do not reflect modern attitudes towards ethnic identity. Having a custom option would allow members to enter one that better reflects their ethnicity.

A filter is not racist. People are racist. Removing a filter doesn’t do anything.
Some people have ****** preferences for certain ethnicities and are not interested in e.g Caucasians, which is why the filter was there in the first place.
Removing it is a ridiculous corporate attempt to make a statement that you can profit off.
If you want to do something then help users report racist speech on your platform more easily and donate the millions of dollars that you make off subscriptions each month.
But don’t make your platform worse for people by removing the ability for members of the LGBTQ+ community to locate those people that they want to speak with.
Many African-American people and non-Caucasians around the world only want to see other people of the same colour or ethnicity.
People have ****** preferences based on height, type of hair, body type and ethnicity and that’s not a racist thing.
It’s natural and surely if the LGBTQ+ movement have taught us anything, it’s that if it exists, it’s natural. So a ****** preference towards a particular ethnicity exists then it’s natural and should not be discriminated against by removing that option.
It’s offensive, wrong and a show of complete lack of insight and willingness to lay down to a popular sentiment to say that a ****** preference based on ethnicity is a racist thing.
You could have chosen to do so many other things to show support, but instead you chose to make your own platform that people rely on to find each other worse.
Typical poor corporate judgement.

It’s unfair ethnicity is for all of us and we paid for that, any ethnicity should be free to explore what we want. It’s a limitation and is racist for al of us.
