Please restore ethnicity filter
I am Asian, and I would like to have the ethnicity filter option back. As a "minority", I don't think the filter option is racist. It offers me choices. Sometimes I want to search for Asians for example,, and if there is this option, it will make my search much easier to find.

I think we should all protest against this and put this in our profile name

For black search matters.
I had to shorten it to fit. 😜

Why have you removed this option?
I have a preference for men who are not white.
There is only white guys in my area and although I paid for unlimited Grindr I can scroll all day and not find a black guy.
Removing this is not helping the BLM because it’s hiding their profiles from guys who have a liking to their ethnicity.
On our profiles you have an option to add in your ethnicity. Why is it on there yet you can’t search for it. Surely it’s the same thing.
I want to cancel my subscription if this isn’t added back on. I doubt they will refund the remaining but it’s disgusting how you can remove a search preference.
You may as well remove the age search, height search, etc... as it is all the same thing. -

This makes me really annoyed. I cant believe they have removed this option. Like people have said it’s a preference not racists.
We are asked to put our ethnicity on our profiles.
If they remove the search why did they leave it on the profile. -

Removing the Ethnicity feature is just one more reason why progressives are polarizing even more society. S******l preference has nothing to do with being racist. Making Grindr users see people that they are not interested is not going to change their minds, make users like other races, or make them less racist. We should all fight for equality, but not who with sleep with. Grindr's decision was just a ludacris populist move to look like they do care. If it really cares, it should put its money where its mouth is.

Bring back the ethnicity filter. None of us are on Grindr to be taught a lesson regarding who we are attracted to. If I want Grindr’s input, I’ll ask for it. Grindr is actually lessening any chance for you to meet who you like. I hope paid members cancel. If membership is free, Grindr can make the rules. When I am paying, I make the rules.

His wishes seem pretty clear. He doesn’t agree with removal of filter. Grindr is in turn “filtering” your options for you. If Grindr wants to be “fair” which is a lie, remove all filters. It’s not Grindr’s business who we filter.

Same here! I pay to use the filters to select who I’m interested in and it’s not gonna change my preference. So sick of all the bs !!

I deleted my paid membership and I am switching to a different apps after irealized that search for my personal preferences is now impossible and I'm getting contacted much less frequently. I suggest you do the same.

It's incredible that Grindr removed such a feature without notifying its users. As a whit man - not interested in other white men - it became impossible to search for somebody as there are probably 90% of white profiles.
I find it really a symbolic things rather than a meaningful action. Even with a filter, if somebody doesn't want to be searched by ethnicity, they just needed not to specify anything in their profile, it was not a mandatory field.
It looks like Grindr staff is unable to make a distinction between racial discrimination (which is hateful) with personal ****** preferences (which is not a crime).
I personally lost interest in Grindr if I can't search for the people I am interested in, and I have realized that since the filter features have been reduced, I also get contacted less frequently. A sign that interest for this app is declining?
I am personally deleting my paid membership and switching to a different app that allows me to search for the people I am really interested in.

This user's wishes are unclear. Does he support the removal of the ethnicity filter or oppose it?

I agree They did not consult the community and saying that feature is racist is bogus ideology and disrespects all of us. If they do not restore the feature I will not renew my membership. This is an insult and a taking away Of freedom of choice. Is it racist if a white guy wants to find an Asian or Latin or Black or mixed guy????? What nonsense!

I’m really sad I updated Grindr app which removed the ethnicity filters. Many guys who are attracted to a particular race will find a different app. People will find a different app that will allow it. I love everyone but I’m really only attracted black guys and I’m white. The unintended consequence of removing them wasn’t thought through and gays will gravitate to an app that allows it. Hope your choice to remove them is worth it Grindr. Just making it more difficult to find guys they are attracted to will cut your business...

While a colorblind approach to social justice is admirable, I cannot be the only person who appreciates the option to search for partners on the basis of race or ethnicity. I do not believe Grindr should have the capacity to censor my personal preferences in this way.... Most especially when I am paying for the premium options. Diversity is a beautiful thing. Personal preference is a matter of liberty and free choice. Refusing to acknowledge that the world's population is, indeed, diverse and that individuals have a right to their own personal preferences is myopic and irrational. I don't think any of us are here because we desire to be taught a lesson about race relations by Grindr. Just provide us with the options we are accustomed to and express your advocacy in some other way.
