Please restore ethnicity filter
I am Asian, and I would like to have the ethnicity filter option back. As a "minority", I don't think the filter option is racist. It offers me choices. Sometimes I want to search for Asians for example,, and if there is this option, it will make my search much easier to find.

You have not posted any information as to why the ethnicity filter has been removed for premium users who are paying for it. It is not a measure to tackle racism because it does no such thing. For those of us who aren’t seeking to connect however with white folks, the removal of this feature is problematic as now I have put “mixed race” as my profile name to be more visible to other POC. Without this my profile and other minority profiles are harder to find as they are crowded in a sea of white gay men. Give us the option to have a way to connect because it is not easy connecting with other POC in the gay community.

The removal of the ethnic filter has only reinforced outright harmful comments towards other races. People should be able to filter to their preferences!

Stop the idiotic social engineering. Removing ethnicity doesn’t magically make people change their tastes. Stop insulting the intelligence of users who pay for your app. Disgraceful.

I prefer another ethnicity! I’m fully supportive of BML but if someone has a ****** preference. If you’ve stopped this filter, stop the age filter too.

As a racial minority, I have never taken racial preference filter negative and this filter may function better way to eliminate unnecessary communications and possible misunderstanding and conflicts. Personally, racial preference filter is just same to age, gender, and ****** orientation filter and I hope Grindr can discuss about this matter and consider to have racial preference filter back. Thanks for your positive consideration.

Because mark porter. It’s a choice to want to chat date meet up with a particular type of person. I’m sure you have a type of person you are interested in. Idiot.

I have cancelled mine today. They refused to even listen to my help message and closed it down with a ridiculous message about supporting BLM. Well you’ve just taken away the black community from me so how does this support the black inclusion. You’ve lost my continued custom and will never purchase again. Not even if it’s brought back. I used to have unlimited membership and that is being refunded to me in full so you’ve lost money. I believe more will follow too.

To the guy who make the very long comment. I want to say that’s very well worded. I didn’t even think of it from your point of view.
I have cancelled my subscription today. Have been an xtra member for several years. They have just lost my unlimited membership payment as I’m being refunded in full.

Agree 100%.
Having a ****** preference to a particular race is not racist in itself. People should have the right to be attracted to whoever they are attracted to without judgement (sound familiar?) Beauty/****** attraction is and forever will be in the eye of the beholder.
IF one were to say that it’s wrong for me to be only sexually interested in one race...how is that any different than the ppl that tell us we are wrong for being sexually attracted to men?...also you’ve effectively blocked minorities from being able to locate each other easily.
I can appreciate what you all are trying to do in today’s climate but I think removing the ethnicity filter was a bit overkill and you’re running the risk of becoming more like those that oppresse the LGBTQ community...Focus more on delivering a positive message rather than removing choices from folks otherwise you risk becoming like a dictator...anyways that’s my 2 cents lol

Why have you removed this option?
I have a preference for men who are not white.
There is only white guys in my area and although I paid for unlimited Grindr I can scroll all day and not find a black guy.
Removing this is not helping the BLM because it’s hiding their profiles from guys who have a liking to their ethnicity.
On our profiles you have an option to add in your ethnicity. Why is it on there yet you can’t search for it. Surely it’s the same thing.
I want to cancel my subscription if this isn’t added back on. I doubt they will refund the remaining but it’s disgusting how you can remove a search preference.
You may as well remove the age search, height search, etc... as it is all the same thing. -

This makes me really annoyed. I cant believe they have removed this option. Like people have said it’s a preference not racists.
We are asked to put our ethnicity on our profiles.
If they remove the search why did they leave it on the profile.
