Please restore ethnicity filter
I am Asian, and I would like to have the ethnicity filter option back. As a "minority", I don't think the filter option is racist. It offers me choices. Sometimes I want to search for Asians for example,, and if there is this option, it will make my search much easier to find.

Grindr, removing the ethnic filter won't deter racism on the app. All those calling it racism, go live somewhere where the kind of guys you vibe more with, are NOT the majority. Just keep scrolling, just keep scrolling, just keep scrolling. Put your hands up, say your apologies, take your beating and restore the filter. That, or (judging by comments) continue to lose revenue. Mine definitely included.

Removing ethnicity is not going to improve equality! It will never change people’s preference in choosing a partner! Nothing to do with equality! How about removing body type? Removing tribes too? Height?

An ethnicity filter is only discriminatory if the person who utilizes it discriminates. An ethnicity filter for *** is no more discriminatory than a filter for age or height.

We demand the ethnic filter back! Everybody have a preference, and we rather see who we like. I'm not going to renew my membership, if it's not restored.

I'm a incognito subscriber- the primary reason that I have this app it is I'm able to use the filters and chat with those I am are most interested in - without wasting a lot of time I don't have !
They need to rethink this ridiculous policy in reference to ethnicity, if people don't want to be identified with a race they can leave it blankMore importantly everyone I knows fills it in because they're looking for other people who have that similar likes in - it's no different than age or body structure - otherwise I won't be renewing
Ridiculous I Like Asian guys ; it was way people could find a match if someone didn't want they could just leave it blank
Grossly over-analyzing -

Enough is enough! Stop racism debate and cut rights of others! I want back that filter! I have a right to filter my favorite ethnities! I do not have to like each and ever ethnicity on this world. It is unacceptable and ridiculous what is going on now!

I paid extra specifically for this. It’s not fetishism for me or racist. I date black Latino and middle eastern. I paid extra for this option and have. Angeles my extra membership starting in March.

I AM PAYING FOR AN XTRA SUBSCRIPTION.
I AM NOT PAYING TO SEARCH THROUGH ALL MANKIND TO LOOK FOR SOMEONE TO CONNECT WITH.
THIS IS NOT THE WAY TO SHOW SUPPORT FOR BLM OR MINORITIES. EVERYONE ON EARTH HAS A PREFERENCE WHEN IT COMES TO THE INDIVIDUALS WE CHOOSE TO ASSOCIATE WITH.
THERE ARE MANY REASONS WHY I WANT THE ETHNICITY FILTER RESTORED.
THE MAIN REASON IS THAT I AM USING XTRA AND THAT MEANS I PAY FOR PREMIUM FEATURES.
IF GRINDR IS GOING TO ALTER THE APP IN A WAY THAT TOTALLY MAKES IT WORTHLESS, I DEMAND MY MONEY BACK ASAP.

So Grindr. You made a public comment because you wanted to jump on the bandwagon, and removed the ethnic filter, which is more of a preference than racist. Might as well take the age and weight filter away too, maybe height as well seeing as I'm not into short guys (I'm 6'3). Well that's my subscription cancelled as all I get now is a sea of profiles that I'm not sexually attracted to. I live in a majority Caucasian country and city, I've no issues with everyday interactions, just not sexually attracted to white. Now, I can't even see if someone I like is driving distance away as my screen is now full of profiles I've no interest in nor can discern (no pic etc.) Swallow your **** up (no pun intended) Grindr and bring the ethnic filter back. You've made the app unusable and you're actually hurting black and other minorities more. I'd even go as far to say you're hurting all races as everyone had a preference, and that preference might be a guy of a different race.

I'm not racist. But 'etnality filter' is necessary for someone. I am an Asian man living in Europe. Many white people don't care about Asians, and they're a minority of Asians. Racists don't care if I'm seen or not. That's why I have to find an Asian like me. I bought a paid membership to use a filter. It's not like I'm racist against them, it's like a solidarity that I find and form in the discrimination they give me. Just as we have different gay and lesbian applications, it's like a sign of solidarity among single Asians.

While I understand the importance of providing an inclusive platform, I also want you to take into consideration that some of us POC would like to be able to connect with other POC. One of the reasons why I paid for the app was to be able to find a place where I can connect with other men of color. In taking this away now I’m limited to engage with the community near me which is mostly white and not really accepting of me

By removing ethnicity you’ve further isolated me from finding folks that identify as a person of color in a very white space. Anytime I’ve been in a extremely white space folks are extremely racist. I understand the motive behind the decision, however, this feature is helpful for folks who want to build a community with others who identify as a person of color. Many of my experiences living in predominantly white spaces have been traumatic. I’ve been told to go back to my country, been called a wetback, a sand ******, etc. So removing the ethnicity option is counterproductive.

What you’re doing by removing the ethnicity filter is tyrannical, social engineering ********. We’ll decide our own morals and make our own choices. I will be waiting 1 week, then cancelling my subscription and deleting this app if this is not rectified. It’s disgusting that you think your “morals” should supersede your customers freedom. Have a spine and stand up to the mob. We’re NOT racists for having our preference and all you’re doing is making it more difficult for minorities to find each other if that’s what they wish to do. I like Asian and Latino men, you ARE NOT going to make my preferences ***** and subservient to your ideological, social engineering nightmare. Bring back our freedom of choice, just like we have in real life.
