Bring back ethnicity filtering. I just cancelled my membership because you removed this feature. I quit until you bring it back.

Totally agree that people ought to able to date with whatever ethnicity / culture they wish - be it their own or any other particular culture with which they find themselves particularly attracted. That is a positive thing - and not racism.

Race is just another innate attribute in the same way sexuality and gender are. Are we to delete all of these?

Those who start out thinking that everyone is a racist until they prove themselves otherwise are the idiots in this. The logical extension consistent with that would be to have governments legislating that there must be a target or quota for the minimum number of mixed race mariages or couples in the country with a target of eventually disallowing same race marriages. This would be laughable if it was not so dangerous.

Planet Romeo got this exactly right in my view - and Grindr got it exactly wrong. Hence this discussion! Just reinstate the ethnicity filter same as Romeo did with their perfectly explained perfect rationale.

Racist idiots are like liars and murderers. Liars can say they never lie and still believe it. Murderers can kill and rationalize that they never murder. Racism can never be rationalized as preference. It is pure prejudice. Leave out the filter. Deal with it or delete yourself. Otherwise, NEVER complain about homophobes; it's just their "preference."

Grindr is becoming useless without my ability to search for my interest. You haven't proved or made anything better by removing ethnicity.

I live in a predominantly white area, and having the ethnicity filter allowed me to meet other people from different ethnic groups. While we understand the need to discourage racism on the app, removing the filter doesn’t achieve this. If anything it exacerbates the problem by robbing people of the ability of people to find others within different ethnic groups

If the ethnicity feature should be removed then why not remove height and weight? It's called preferences. Has nothing to do with being racist. Makes the app harder to use, especially when many don't include a profile pic. Restore this feature please.

in regards to the ethnic filter all i have ever dated is black guys, that is who i am attracted to ... its all i have sex with and that is all i am interested in meeting so i too am cancelling my grinder for that very reason.

I started from myself. Just canceled my subscription and will not purchase this premium until they learn not to sell a product and give less than what they initially offered. Ethnic preferences (type) got nothing to do with racism. Grindr tried to get some credibility through this mockery of BLM and failed. I would suggest people to cancel and don’t make this dodgy business any stronger.

In response to BLM you can’t tarnish all whites as racist. Yes there are some that are. But NOT all of us and I’m from London the most diverse city in the world.

I agree with anonymous October 9th. Cancel memberships use other sites that’s the only way things will change, if people Hurt them where it counts, their pocket books! I will not purchase another membership until this is resolved and I should get a refund on the last one I had because that’s why I signed up was for filters so I can find that person I like. DONT GIVE THEM YOUR MONEY!!!!!

It’s not discrimination if someone can choose what ethnicity they are into not everybody is into the same race it’s not discrimination.
