Please restore ethnicity filter
I am Asian, and I would like to have the ethnicity filter option back. As a "minority", I don't think the filter option is racist. It offers me choices. Sometimes I want to search for Asians for example,, and if there is this option, it will make my search much easier to find.

As many gays here in USA blatantly discriminate , it will happen anyways . Although I like all colors , when I’m seriously horny and need to avoid the sexual racists I have more success when I select people people of color . It saves me the hassle and I can get laid with a hot guy !

Agreed! Filtering ethnicity doesn’t mean racism! Everyone has own preference, prefer an ethnicity doesn’t mean discriminate other ethnicities!

To NOT be a RACIST is to not have RACIAL preferences—one has to value a race higher than / superior to another to form a "preference."
If you're strictly talking about physical attractions that are supposedly non-racist, you can point out attributes that are not necessarily tied to a "race"—which is a construct based on outdated science anyway—e.g. prefering strong/soft jawline, pointy/flat nose, thick/thin lips, tanned/pale skin, double eyelid or epicanthic fold, etc.Culturally, if you're ONLY comfortable with your own, whether you're racist or not, you're just close minded or lazy.

To anonymous,
So I have to date other races or I’m a racist? Use your logic please. Your words, not mine. -

This feature use to exist but it was removed and that is very unfortunate for me. I live in Sarasota, FL and the area is not known for racism however, on Grindr, the white men comprise most of the community. Most of the white men do not associate with black men and it's very difficult to connect with the ones there might be without being able to specifically search for them.

So...wanting to date within your own ethnicity (W4W, B4B, A4A, L4L, etc.) because you're not open to other "races" isn't racism? Use your logic please
Cal obviously you are ignorant and do not pay attention. Having a preference, finding attraction to a certain race etc. is not racism. Racism is when you believe that a particular race is superior than another and you purposely deny opportunities to people of that race. Love should be blind regardless of skin color etc but that does not mean that finding a certain color of men etc. by an individual as more attractive is racism. I am white and happen to be attracted to Latino men. Sorry if that makes me racist in your eyes but it is what it is. All you are doing is making it more difficult for me to find a guy that I find attractive.

They will probably stand by their decision if they ever encounter this complaint, because they want to perpetuate support for blm. They also definitely dont read these comments.

What is the point of having filters if you don’t offer the opportunity to highlight or select all the possible listings you can put on your profile. You allow others to discriminate based on stats such as age, size, position, but exclude things like expectations and gender identity pronouns. Either allow filtering of everything or nothing at all.

We need to be really careful throwing the word ‘racist’ or ‘racism’ around so casually as to lose the real meaning of the word. Racism involves exalting one race as superior to all others. Having a dating preference based on race doesn’t do that and is therefore not racist. There is nothing wrong with finding members of another race attractive.

You all these people are poor business leaders. They dont know much if anything about business! They should hire professional business consultants . They have poor response times on everything! And dont actually gauge their customers wants and desires.

Is Grindr actually listening to their paid up members? So many have complained about the removal of the ethnicity filter, just put it back! Some people have a type, it is not racist. BLM as do all lives, the removal of this filter is misplaced and missing the point

So nearly 2,100 members or $210,000 in lost revenue. Still not enough for bad leadership to remove a requested and paid for feature.
Look BLM is important but this has nothing to do with it! I want what I want an others want what they want. Making the app more cumbersome make it’s not worth the upgrade. -

Buck wisely said: “Ultimately, the decision to restore the ethnicity filters will come down to dollars and cents. If enough of us make good on our threats not to renew upgraded service, they will get the message.” Good point. My annual subscription renewal has been cancelled. Confirmation attached.
