When searching for guys it would be good to see only guys who are interested on men of my age.

It's funny reading this idea and the messages also . So much hate for nothing. If you are not a paying member please understand that your opinions or requests shouldn't be valid. Be aware that the majority of members paying to use this site are in all levels mature either by age or mentally. Thus giving the ones that don't pay a chance to access the site. I don't think blocking old men from contacting you should even considered immoral because we are all getting older and there's no way around it. Be happy people are contacting you. Some don't even get that and if your tired of it all. Put down your phone for once and do something else. I login and I spend the 1st 20 mins. dealing with taps from hairless boys that clearly can’t read or don’t take the time to read my profile. Because it’s clearly stated “looking for guys around my age” & “must have face pic to chat”. But there they are 23 and tapping away with their faceless profile trying hook with older guys. I’ve always found younger guys kinda boring, a bit light in the substance of conversation and frankly a little shallow. And by reading some of the comments here not much has change with “Woke” generation. But I take the time to return their compliments. Let them know that even when I was 20 yrs old I wasn’t into 23 yr. old guys.
Maybe I’ve learned with age that it’s just a number and it’s not cool to refer to people as grandpa or that old guy. It’s just common sense and time to grow up and acting like men. This isn’t high school, you don’t need to hide behind a filer setting or a faceless profile to find a nice way to say “I’m not interested”.

Put yourself in their shoes before you’re to harsh on these older men. Your gonna get there one day, hopefully you’ll find someone your own age that isn’t trying to hook up with all hairless boys.

Um leaving aside the "above your preferred age aspect" the answer is quite simple. Introduce a compulsory default whereby a profile must contain the persons age and their age range. When that is done you can then have a setting, default or optional, whereby only those within your age range can message you. You can even hide your own age and age range because people will only be able to see mutually compatible profiles.

I might add that rather than being draconian or discriminatory, blocking those outside of age ranges is a help because it eleminate pursuing those who will not be interested in the end.

Such an ability would be out of line with Grindr's anti-discrimination policy, if not illegal in certain places. It's also a violation of Google's Terms of Services for the App store, which prohibits applications that are used primarily for adult purposes.

Look at all these old guys here angry about the possibility of not being able to be creeps and message kids anymore. Maybe just try and hook up with someone your own age? And not waste young people's time, who don't want to date their grandpa

Can we also do it to block people younger than your stated preference. Plus possible age verification and a separate site for camp young pouting screaming queens. Getting very fed up with this site.

All this feature would do is block older that aren't creepy and older guys that are creepy will just enter a younger age and then not publish their age on the profile.
