BASIC SEARCH FILTERS - EXCEPT THEY WORK!

Whaaaaat! I know its ambitious, but heck let's just shoot for the stars here. I realise being able to search by age range is science-fiction technology of the future, but I think we can do it! Yes we can!

Need to be able to block all. People who are not in your preferred age range

So if I want to block everyone younger than 40 I won’t get any messages from anyone under 40

And vis versa, be able block profile younger than your preferred age. It’s creeps like the suggester of this suggestion that we want avoid. You can like everyone else you don’t like just ignore or block them. It yiu could use your words and say “ not thanks”!! Who cares about age. This suggestion needs to be canned! I think because

Not everyone likes *** with the same age. Some people like older some people younger. Deal with it

Instead of block everyone you should consider being polite and say “Sorry mate, you’re not my type”

Why filter age not working

I identify as a chronophile which makes age filter THE most important for people like us. Without it grindr is as good as trash . Please get the basic filters working

This would need two new profile fields, preferred age range from and to and for them to be searchable. Gaydar used to have this and it is quite handy for those who have a clear preference.

Could a filter maybe be added so that the grid only shows profiles based on the age range a user specifies? Not sure what the legalities are in terms of minimum age, sure that varies from country to country. Granted, the filter would only be as accurate as the honesty of the age supplied by the profile.

Could maybe have options: enter a rage from/to, or show all, or show only profiles with age on them?

Yes you could do with this also block younger people who are becoming more of a problem as of late

Grindr needs to get on its above 18 policy way before the 21-24 age group should be able to click “too old” on the 28+ age group.

There are filters already it’s called a monthly subscription. Or deal with it. I pass for 22 and I’m nearly 30. If your freaking out about age then go out and meet people your age.

Then remember that there are 16/17 year olds who can pull off early 20’s and check your states defense for “I didn’t know” because it’s never worked before. And there aren’t Romeo/Juliet laws protecting you because your only 3-6 years apart it’s a prison sentence regardless.

I’ve fell for it once and didn’t find out til after the fact a week later. ID’s need to be a requirement or age verification just for the children who don’t care. Yes they exist thankfully they usually aren’t able to pull it off, or have the guts to try but it’s common.

This would just create more profiles with fake age. Many people already think it's acceptable to lie about their age, sad. Yeah this wouldn't help you at all

Messages from young guys can be just as creepy and unwanted. Let’s not perpetuate ageism when the issue you have goes both ways quite often and is likely a very small number all things considered.

You will have to learn to deal with everyone in this world appropriately and with respect terms such as creepy and no oldies arnt helpful. You keep up calling people names then one day you might take it to far and cause conflict

Gay people are the first ones to holler about acceptance to the world but will be quick as hell to not accept someone of their same community for simple things such as Age, race, height, weight, masculinity and lifestyles. I think that is perfect. But also put a button to block all guys in their 20's, they're not very good in bed Also with BBC being so much more in demand, we'll need a block all white guys button. And I don't really care for guys that are to over weight,a button for that,or to skinny, we all like someone with a little meat on their bones. I had messaged grindr wondering why I was banned , I have had no response as to why . I have nt done anything or said anything to anyone to warrant a ban , unless someone that I had blocked or was nt interested in has made up stories and given you a reason to ban me . its not in my nature to hurt or offend anyone .im on several sites and this is the first time I ve be banned on any . in relation to that I have chatted with others and they are nt even aware you could be banned . which brings me back to what have I done to warrant a ban . I will wait in anticipation to find out WHY . username bettian .
