With Grindr becoming more diverse it is important that we meet everyone's diverse needs and desires on there. I want people of different gender minorities to feel safe on the app, but I am a gay cis man and I still need the ability to find men who are into men. A lot of my feed is filled with trans women and men who love them. Neither can fulfill what I need from the app and I can't do it either. There's also an influx of straight women joining the app for whatever reason. This makes my experience on Grindr less enjoyable as I have to spend a too much time blocking these profiles in order to keep it to what I want (and I only have a certain amount of blocks.) It's time that Grindr let us set a gender preference so that every gay, bi, and trans needs can be met.

Let us look for gender in filters (cis, trans, ...) would be a very good improvement.

BLAH BLAH BLAH its a **** online app. You cannot change other people behavior by regulating there freedom of expression in a cooperate policy because you disagree with it. What needs to be taken seriously is public education and healthcare for all. we can get back the social stigma of trans another day. This is literally the least important thing in the world. As far i am concerned making your own tribal cohort is a insult to male sexuality and to the cost of life as the price for men to be happy among men without fear of death. To be recognized trans issues as a separate issue. Is a real insult to the face of all the men who died for loving who they love. This is why nobody takes you seriously.

Adding "Gender" as an option to the search feature

I saw only a handful of topics covering this. Most not brought to the forefront and maybe it's not a problem for some but it is to me.
Grindr was developed and pushed as the everything gay app. You want to hook up, you go here. You want to find a LTR, you go here. But it's been a while since they pushed the update for women and trans to open their doors to more users. I have no problem with trans or women. I just don't like ******. I like ****.
I'm probably not the only free user out there who agree's when I say there needs to be a filter for gender. Sure inclusivity is great, but the apps still marketed for gay men and when you see a women there it takes a spot where a cute guy could be. It catches you off guard and it makes you wonder why she's here on this app. Is it because she's looking for a gay best friend? Or is it because she thinks she'll find mr charming. Except to me it just seems very unlikely - hence why they have apps like tindr.
And if they are trying to market it for everyone then add filters like this. Even tindr has a filter for "men" or "female" showing only guys or showing only girls.
Support this and get it to the front. Maybe you don't care, that's not a bad thing. But if you agree then give it a vote.

As a Grindr user whose day job is as a linguist, the whole idea of "customised pronouns" is stupid in any case. The whole logic of a pronoun is to stand as a semantically empty place marker in the spot where a noun usually stands. If people start making up their own pronouns that defeats the whole purpose of pronouns, and they become nouns. You can't have people making up their own customised pronouns. No one's going to use them because language just doesn't work that way.

They wont. Grindr is money hungry. If they do added it will be a subscription thing which is beyond stupid. The trans are freaking annoying on Grindr. Im interested in biological males. Not women in the present mor past.
Blocking does not work either. The same trans keep creating a new profile every few days to a few weeks. It is ridiculous. I do not want to see women/trans on grindr

Let's keep this simple. Add a free optional filtering for Trans. Let those not interested filter them out. And those interested to find ONLY them. No need for a second app. Keep all the profiles on the same network. Letting those who are interested in both find both. That sould please all parties involved. Plus keeping the match rate and new user accounts up. Keeping grindr as the most used Gay chat app. No website or app offers the trans community what we have here. Let's welcome them to the largest group.

I believe crossdressers should also be a tribe of their own and trans as well as many crossdressers do not want to identify as trans and many want to be a part of the trans community that they say they are trans and are only hairy guys wearing women's clothes identifying as trans should mean that you identify yourself as the opposite gender to everyone everywhere everyday and crossdressers are ones who are in the closet in one way or another and only want to be the opposite *** behind closed doors

Dunno what the pronouns field is there for. It's idiotic. Over 95% of the users are liars by failing to post the truthful I/Me/Mine.

Cis or trans, neither are men, and this app is, and is advertised as such, "exclusively for men". If i wanted to have to filter out women, there's Tinder.
This isn't misogyny or transphobia. If you identify as a woman, then you are not a man.

Hi
It seems to me that the most targeting relevant search for users would be to search by gender. For example - why can’t I search for anybody who lists their gender as ‘*****’ or ‘trans Mann which are some of the pre filled options. Currently you can only find someone who a particular gender if they hopefully are looking inside a particular tribe -

It’s offensive to see people use the Gender and Pronouns fields as a way to mock the trans community. I appreciate that Grindr desires to be all-inclusive. It’s heartwarming that we transsexual or nonbinary community members have options to express our gender expression. But certain users make an offensive mockery out of this feature. You as Grindr should not allow these messages into the community. Pronouns are something to be taken seriously. Grindr should really be focused on making things right and safe for all. There should be a limited amount of options for Gender and Pronouns. Instead of allowing customizations, provide a list of as many possible valid identities, and include an “Other” option. Or, verify and approve customizations so they are appropriate and safe to display in the app community. It’s great that we have this feature, but it should not be twisted against us. It’s sad how many misogynists, sexists, and transphobes exists in the gay cis male and hetero cis male community on Grindr. Please change the feature to empower us not devalue us. Rainbows can only exist because they include all colors.

"Block" is a harsh term. I appreciate that Grinder has opened its doors to other gender identities, but I find it strange that we are asked to list our gender identity along with preferred pronouns (e.g. cis male, he/him/his), but these are the only profile attributes that are not listed in the filters section of the app. I've personally noticed a significant increase in the variance of genders left of male, and it would nice to filter out these options. Although I support the variance, I don't want to see trans, drag queens, or non-binary individuals in my feed. I just want cis men...

Would be nice to filter out specific gender types such as transgender. I do not want to see transgenders to show up in the nearby men’s list. I am a subscriber.

That would be just discrimination against other people’s gender. You don’t know if they don’t actually identify as an attack helicopter or not.
