Timed Photo Messages - disappear seconds after viewed
Once the other person views the photo it disappears from the conversation; only a one-time view.

No, this function would be conducive to criminal behavior and other undesirable behaviors!

A criminals charter. They already block you when they realise you are on their case because they know they delete the messages at your end. When you send a message it becomes the property of the receiver. The sender should NOT have the right to delete it.

Sounds like more complication than benefit,if you decide you no longer want a contact to have your info use the block it deletes it all.id be in favor of a reset conversation for instance you want to have future contact but you want the pics and conversation deleted.

Like snapchat/instagram whereby if you send a pic it disappears after a period of time and notifies you if they screenshot

Some of us said this was a really bad idea before it was introduced.
It's still a really really bad idea. Not the only bad idea Grindr has pursued since most of its developers in LA were fired or resigned to be replaced with cheap imitations.
This is what I wrote on this forum nine months ago:
"This will create far more problems than it solves. Keeping copies of messages and pics of people you're going to meet can be a useful precaution in all sorts of ways - either if the person isn't who they claim to be, or if they turn out to be dangerous.
Also there are ways round it anyway. Client-side security features are rarely watertight.
If you don't want unknown strangers to see your messages and pics, then don't send them on Grindr."

I use my screenshots for security. I won’t meet someone if I have no idea who they are. I need there to be some kind digital fingerprint to say a meet happened. At present people can play with you sending you here there and everywhere and the minute you confront them on line they block you deleating everything that transpired. It’s a dangerous practice at present to be able to just block. Can it not be just frozen for 2 days allowing recourse to the law. I really feel for people who’s identity gets stolen but there must be another way that doesn’t involve making others vulnerable to anything these people can dream up

I'm a big fan of Grindr, but I really don't like the disappearing photo feature you are introducing. It sends COMPLETELY the wrong message to me as (1) it gives me the impression that they don't trust me to be discreet; and (2) it suggests that if they are stupid enough to send a photo they regretted sending, then they're too stupid to justify me hooking up with them. For me, if anyone sends me pic and it disappears after one view, I will block them. Period. I will amend my profile to say so.

Total wast of time people can still screenshot/use a different device to take a photo of the device with the picture on before it deletes and as a few people have said sometimes you like to go back and look to decide on things and there will be a lot more blank profiles and people who don’t want to share on here always ask for your snapcha

Excuse me but that along with the "disappearing" of messages when somebody blocks is is not just a criminals charter but illegal.
Received messages are the property of the receiver. If you indulge in a postal romance and you decide to end it you have no right to access or destroy the letters you sent the other person because in law they are your property to keep or dispose of. Same with Whatsapp, kik etc.
Likewise this ability to delete all messages and evidence of once's existence by deleting ones profile or blocking has become a godsend for the abusers and scammers. On one occasion I realised the person I was talking to was a scammer and got a pen to note down details. I asked him casually if he could swap pics with me but but before I could scroll and make notes he must have smelt a rat and deleted along with all evidence of who he was and what he was up to.
