At the very least, requiring users to send a selfie matching a selected pose or phone text verification like badoo would be helpful.

We so need this. Theres a lot of fake profiles just being outright stalky and hostile.

It would help combat profiles that are fakes that just want to fish people or who wish to do lgbtq people harm using fake accounts that aren't verified so that they can cause people harm.

Also a way to verify the actual or selected date of birth ensuring that the users are the appropriate age since this app has access to send private photos that could contain nudity.

I am just absolutely tired of these fake or flake profiles and those asking you to buy a $50 google card for them and provide the number. Most say they are from the states. I have been told getting an XTRA level will not change the level of the Fakes messaging ones account. I turned off my phone and woke up to three flake messages and an invite to another site that happens numerous times a day for the same sites. People saying they are near me when the mileage clearly says they are over any reasonable distance, including people from the UK. You need to verify accounts using a creditcard or verification system like calling the cell phone with an ID number or sending an email with a code number even use a credit card number or photo ID which is what is required for some online services and program or apps. But you need to fix it if people leave because of these fakes and flakes along with other false profile I may have to give up

The amount of fake profiles is increasing dramatically. My photos are being used. Grindr doesn't do anything to improve their app security! Until when?

Something needs to be done about the individuals claiming to be Fazza, The Crown Prince of Dubai, trying to scam people on the app. We definitely need a verification process where everyone must prove their identity before being allowed to use the application. I would have no problem proving my identification because honey I am the real thing! If only people would recognize this recognize this then maybe I would have have a husband, LOL!

You guys gotta understand..their is HELLA “DL” guys out here.. but also everyone on grindr is sooo fake all the profiles are fake.. I’m over grindr-and the bots are continuous. Grindr sucks!

I would really like to see Tommy fellows not be able to use grinder for his YouTube channel Colorado ped patrol using fake profiles as a 19 year old then telling you he's 14 that should not be done here this is an adult site not a kiddy chat room. He should not be able to use this 98% of the gay men here are not pedifiles. He should be banded I hope this will get some attention. I know most men will block and report, but he should be using kiddy sites not adult sites.

Yes. And these verification don't have to expose the face of the individual on the public profile, just do it in the background. People can enjoy anonymity, but Grindr can handle the verification process.

It's a good step to show since when someone has undetectable hiv+ status, at least the start year; it's a measure how responsible are with their treatment, if had enough time to adjust their life and learn, etc.
