Get rid of all the Profiles with no pics or profiles with nothing in them Grindr is losing ground fast because of this
The OP is insane or inane. Do you not know about privacy issues and laws, especially with medical data.
The idea is good for profile verification, yet still a bit difficult to integrate anyway. At the end of the day, who is going to go get a fake ID just to have a fake profile?
Please make it mandatory to complete key info on all profiles.. and if it is not completed, your profile will not be visible to other users and you will not be able to message other users.
By "Key Info", I specifically mean:
- HIV STATUS
- LAST TESTED DATE
- Body Type
- Position (but broaden to include "Oral" and "Not Listed)
- Relationship Status
- Looking For
There is no reason for the above information not to be completed. And it is doubly irritating when there is no profile information AND no picture. If a person is "discreet", they can list that under their Tribes.
Completed profile with face pic.
When someone chooses to add HIV status to profile, ask the person to verify it by sending code to his phone which makes sure that person is not lying. So a profile with verified status will be authentic and more people will tend to use Grindr because it is authentic site now.
If users want to be discreet and don't want to have a profile picture of themselves the they should be required to at least have age, hight ,weight. If the profile answered all the basics it would be a better experiance. The less back and forth messaging the better. Ex: what are you in to? Host or travel?
If you guys can find a way to play mach maker i will be more willing to pay money. Based d on pictures and profiles only your staff has access to.
Making something more inclusive for people who have HIV and are looking to meet people or someone that either accepts it and do not mind dating someone with HIV, or they can opt out and not show up on profiles if they do not accept it.
I always meet awesome guys but once they see that I am HIV+ they block me. It’s just a waste of my time and theirs as well.
Guys should have their profile details filled in. It’s not a guessing game and 20 questions.
You don’t walk up to a guy in a bar and ask how tall heavy and ethnicity
Most gays these days seem to only want BB or breeding, for the handful of us who like safe ***, this should be a filter available. If people opt for BB ***, a recommendation should pop up to ensure they are HIV tested and on Prep/PEP. It is incredibly useful and provides education
Make it mandatory to complete user profiles to at least 80%

Make an OPTIONAL component to upload your HIV TEST RESULTS and receive a badge or verification of the results for a safer, fun environment!
This will help illiminate predators and time wasters as well as abusive individuals
What? Ate you insane? Do you think peopple will provide grinder with their STD results?
You know how to prevent STDs with strangers? Wear a condom ! Thats all. And if you looking fot bareback *** there is worst things than hiv, like hepatitis C! If you dont trust who you are having *** whith wear a condom.
Sharing that kind of information violate many laws and privacy and human dignity.

I have a patent which could be used in conjunction with Grindr to allow STD verification. No one has the ability to remotely verify someone's identity, because it could be a desire for a user to share a profile. As disease control goes, that is unacceptable. However, you could have a profile and compare innumerable profiles to search for only those matches that compare favorably and then authenticate the individual using biometrics like an iris scan, face to face using my method: "system for scheduling, recordation, and biometric validation of interpersonal interactions," which is fully patented. It employs a variety of passive and active security mechanisms that will ensure that the gentlemen are all going home with the correct dude and it can be stored using biometric data that can't readily identify the men in question, even if the service is compromised. It far surpasses the security of state issued IDs for both user to user identification and I am going to be pursuing biometric identification between the user and the clinician acquiring the STD test samples from the user. No one can identify all the fake state IDs, but tightly linking test results to an iris scan is ideal.
The tool to allow people to list PrEP is great, but since it’s release I have been worried about its potential abuse. People could lie and mark their status as “on PrEP” to make risky decisions that put their health and the health of unsuspecting others at risk. Clearly, a responsible person should verify the other persons’ status themselves, but what can Grindr do to help keep people healthy and informed?
