what's the main purpose of blocking using fake gps?
Any scammers and spammers can still use fake gps on a pc
but regular people like us cannot use it :)
I wish I didn't signed up for a year membership.

Fake gps apps must be enabled. I have haters looking for me with weapons. My life is in danger. I cannot show exactly where I live to everyone. Only to the one I'm about to meet. Otherwise, I must stay logged out of Grindr. I cannot use Grindr. I will not pay for Grindr under such circumstances.

By blocking fake GPS, u are discouraging us from using Grindr. Because after few days we exhaust all profile close to us and then we have to start looking in other dating apps. You can give us a 10 Km range to move around and msg other profiles for free.

Will be interesting to see if Grindr actually listens to users here or will be stubborn.

Allow fake GPS and stop trying to take more money off us

It seems as if every update lately has further eroded our ability to choose to remain private. First you disable mock locations and now the sound wont turn off. Yeah, you gave us the option to appear as if we're offline while browsing but only if we pay your ridiculous monthly fees. Is that what nothings been fixed yet? Because you havent figured out how to charge us for it yet?

As of mid-January 2020, I was no longer able to use Fake GPS in tandem with Grindr. To ensure this wasn't a bug, I've been in contact with a helpful member of your team ("M") about this, clarifying that "we cannot guarantee the proper functioning of the app while being connected to a third-party service". This is of course understandable.
However the main reason I found it such a good way to use Grindr was that it was a measure by which I could safeguard my anonymity in a sparsely populated area where it would be much easier to pinpoint individuals compared to more densely populated areas.
Obviously faking a location can facilitate a "catfisher's" abilities, but the ability to see who's where and arrange something before a trip to a given location has proven handy in the past. A little dishonest? Perhaps, but there's an honest way of doing this that doesn't involve misleading people. I never play near home either, owing to how connected the broader community is in the rural area I live, and so by using Fake GPS to set my location to a city I regularly visit, that's not too far away, I was still able to make connections with guys more readily, even making a special trip for the right guy.
So, yes there are cons, but I really feel the pros outweigh them, and whilst there are many ways of tackling catfishing, disabling the use of fake gps's is surely not high on the list of methods. I'm by no means the first person to recommend the removal of a block to Fake GPS and other similar apps (see other Feature Requests), but this goes much further than the "Explore" function you already have on Grindr. "Explore" doesn't offer the type of anonymity I'm after, to the point that until Grindr can offer something along those lines then my use of your app (which, I should add, is otherwise very good) will be very limited from this point on.

Please allow mock location again. Tired of having my neighbors contact me on Grindr and get upset when I disappear off Grindr (I resort to blocking their profiles). I used to set my location elsewhere and meet people in areas I choose. This was the best feature of Grindr. The "view nearby profiles" integrated feature is useless.
