Not having the ability to change location with gps emulate means I no longer feel safe.
I use it carefully with location close but not exact so my privacy is protected.
Good bye. Will not risk my safety for a bit of fun. -

I live in San Antonio Texas. It's a large city. I am no longer able to find guys anywhere in the city without having to go to that area. I don't want to see all the blank profiles in explore plus them I have to pay to message any that I might be interested in. Moving my location made it worth driving down town to find a guy. The best head ive had before came from moving my location into another neighborhood. I can just park my truck just anywhere at night searching for a guy. There's not much reason for me to use this app if I can't message guys in another city that I'm visiting im a couple days to setup a meet.
You may lose a lot of users because of this, we know it won't hurt you because we don't signup for the paid version.

Grindr Support today:
"We are sorry for the inconvenience this may cause but we will not allow the use of third-party location services. The Grindr app will only allow the GPS function that's already included on your device. Kind regards"
Good bye grindr

Grinder Support, this is very important:
"The best advice is to install a fake-location app, and spoof your location to a place nearby. By doing this, adversaries might still be able to globally identify in which neighborhood you live, but at least they will not find out in which house you stay, or in whose bed you sleep"

Indeend! I see that I can no longer use Grindr safely. I need to be able to move my real location at least 600 meters away from my house or office. Grindr won't be safe for me anymore, Really, security is the most important thing in these times. . Really, I won't be able to do that anymore? Thanks

Good luck logging in if you are in a country where homosexuality is a crime. Grindr just killed a lot of people with this. Plus blocking people from the community they can not physically be a part of is not really what you should do if you want users. Good thing there are other apps that do not slowly force their costumers away. You allow hundreds of bots on to your app but treat real people like this... Lets all give them 1 star so they can wake up

everything for money........... everything.. they don't mind if they murder you. already hunderts of gays are murdered because of the use of grindr ... now the distance stays on ...i has to be an opposite choise. it has to be off .. standard.... and ofcourse mock/fake gps has to be possible. but what i said before: everything for money ... money and power.. they are addicted to power, force and money. not human... they are devils.

I agree absolutely. This Is needed for people who are +. I dont know about every other + guy but I dont have any interest in negative guys on grindr unless they message me hitting me up first. The but I'm comfortable with other + guys but just cant find them very easily.

Personnally, I was very disappointed to see that. I used Fake GPS regularly to make contacts before a trip and made great friends all over the world that way.
I did use the Grindr integrated function (plane icone), but it shows many limits compared to Fake GPS : you can't access your mailbox from this mode; guys in the target location cannot see your profile unless you text them; it's hard to pick a precise address.
To me, Grindr just missed its main goal : allow guys to meet.
You want security? Bring back the function that allowed us to erase a message we sent (pics, address, ...). It s only available for a premium account, which is way overpriced. Basic security should be accessible to everyone.
2019 : bad year for Grindr users.

Think of the people in countries where homosexuality is a crime. You're now the reason they are being arrested or worse.

GRINDR, please pay attention to this. There are many issues raised by other Grindr users along these comments, this isn't a good policy, it endangers and puts us at risk of actual harm.
Ĺike another user said, anyone can now triangulate our exact position and pinpoint it on a map, without us beìng able to conceal it in any way. And I mean ANYONE. That's the scary part. Nobody knows if there's a serial killer, a rapist or an otherwise psycho freak, using some unidentifiable, no nick, no pics, no profile description, nothing, who doesn't even need to talk or anything, THEY can spot our position just the same.
Please, please, please re-enable this option, Grindr users' safety gets abysmal when you do this, you're exposing us to risks that YOU as a company wouldn't ever take responsibility for, but that's exactly what you're doing and YES, you would be responsible for any harm to users committed in this way, regardless of whether you would admit it or not.
So again, please, re-enable mock locations. This is about SAFETY!!
